Sophie took a deep breath as she knocked on the Heks' house door.

It's okay. Just act cool. It's going to go well!

Immediately, Vika answered the door. "Why hello Sophie," Vika greeted.

Sophie plastered on a smile. "Hello!" Sophie said, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"I look forward to meeting you. Come right on in! Make yourself at home," Vika said, opening the door wider and guiding Sophie in.

"Wow," Sophie breathed as she looked around in the inside of their home. The furniture was all white and fancy. The walls were decorated with elegant designs and windows were framed with silky curtains. Everything was high tech too. The place screamed "I'm rich!"

Ah this is why Nick seemed to have expensive stuff.

"Well, like I said, make yourself at home. Take a seat—is there anything you want to eat?" Vika exclaimed, heading towards the kitchen.

"Um just a glass of water would be nice," Sophie said. Vika then nodded and went inside the kitchen.

Sophie took the time to examine their living room. She found herself looking at the fireplace and saw that there were a bunch of family photos. But Nick was rarely in any of them.

Hmm he must not have been adopted for that long.

That made Sophie think about what actually happened with his biological parents. Sophie knew the subject was still very hard for Nick so she never bothered to really ask. Maybe sometime soon he would tell her.

Sophie then looked next to her and saw a photo album on the table. Sophie then looked around to make sure no one was looking before she grabbed it and opened it up.

Sophie just couldn't stop her nosy self.

Sophie then started to flip through it and in the beginning, it was just photos of Stina when she was little with her parents. Then it showed her getting older over the years. It actually looked like Stina was a happy and friendly person.

Shocking.

Then Sophie realized that she was starting to look at pictures of when Stina started high school. Sophie's eyebrows furrowed when there was a picture of Stina and Fitz wrapping an arm around each other in front of the school. Sophie then flipped the page and Stina was holding Fitz's hand on the lawn of her house. And Sophie kept flipping and several photos were of Stina and Fitz together.

Wow they must have been a lot closer than Sophie thought...

Sophie then reached a photo where it must have been Valentine's Day. Stina was in a red dress by a lake and Fitz was next to her with a picnic in front of them. Stina has a genuine smile on her face that differed greatly from her usual scowl. Fitz also had a sparkle in his teal eyes that seemed to be rare.

Sophie suddenly felt like she may have been invading Stina's privacy and she wanted to put the photo album away. But when Sophie flipped the next page, Nick was in front of some orphanage with Timkin and Vika.

Sophie gasped and studied the picture. It wasn't too long ago—probably two years ago.

Sophie wondered why Nick was still in an orphanage up until high school.

Wow...did no parents ever want him?

All those years spent there...

Well technically—Sophie didn't know how long he spent there. He could have been at the orphanage since he was an infant or starting from later on.
