Kageyama POV

"Good morning Tobio!"
"Morning Tobio."
"Mornin'."
I casually greeted my parents as I came down for breakfast. My father was frying bacon in the kitchen while my mom watched the news before she had to leave for work.
I sat down next to my mom on the sofa, the sound and smell of bacon sizzling on the frying pan slowly but surely waking me up. My mom moved over slightly, making room for me. "Thanks." I said. She smiled at me in response.
"Breakfast'll be ready in a few." My dad called from the kitchen.
"Thanks a lot honey!"
"Ya thanks dad."

"Do we need to go grocery shopping today?" My dad asked my mom.
"Yes. We're out of a lot of things and we won't have time later this week."
"Will you have time to go after work? If not I'll go sometime today."
"Could you go? It would be a bit easier on me."
"Ok."
"They oughtta let you have Saturdays off, mom." I added
"Yes well, I'm not the only one." She said, laughing slightly.
"Anyway, I can make a list after I'm done making breakfast."
"That would be great. Thank You sweetie."

My Parents continued their conversation and the TV kept playing in the background.
Not having much interest in the news, I grabbed a volleyball magazine from nearby and began lazily flipping through the pages wondering if I was going to find anything interesting. I wasn't really listening to the TV until something they said caught my attention.

" - incident occurred in Yukigaoka."
Yukigaoka? That's the neighboring town where Hinata lives right? ( I had been to his house a few(many) times.) Why would that place be on the news? It's so small and peaceful.

Putting down the Volleyball magazine, I turned my focus to the screen.
The headline read : FIRE BURNS DOWN HOUSE ON 87th STREET. (idk) The footage showed wreckage that clearly used to be a fully unscathed home. The area had been taped off, yellow strips adorning the scene. Police cars were still planted around the rubble, though the sirens were off.
"The victims of the fire were severely injured and there was one casualty. All the belongings inside the house have been either crushed or burned. Not a single functional thing can be found. Nothing was left in one piece." The news reporter said somberly.
I felt a pang of sympathy for whoever's house that was, but something was bothering me.

87th street? 87th street. I've heard that before. Where had I heard that?
Then I remembered. How could I forget? I've been to that street like fifty times. Guess I just know the way.

"My address is 1345 87th street, Yukigouka! But I'll text it to you too!"

No way. That was Hinata's street. A small spike of fear of fear struck me, but I immediately shut it down.
Relax, I'm sure he's fine, it was only one house right? What are the chances it's his? Don't overthink it.
But still, I really wanted to be sure.
I ran up the stairs to my room and swiftly picked up my phone and unlocked it in one go(Touch ID). I went to Hinata's contact and was about to message him when I caught the time.
7:24. There's no way he's awake.
Knowing that Hinata was one to sleep in on the weekend, I decided to not message him. Not just because I didn't want to wake him up (though I highly doubted he would. And yes since I started dating the ginger I started caring a tad bit more about him. Not a lot though.) but also because chances were he wasn't going to wake up at all and that wouldn't help me in the slightest. I would text him at around nine. Ya that sounded fine.

Sighing, I plopped down onto my bed trying to ease the worry in my mind.
He's fine, that wasn't his house. I'm sure of it. I've been there plenty of times and that wasn't it.
"How can you tell though? It's completely wrecked." A small voice in the back of my head said. Ugh, why did I have to be such a pessimist?
"Shut up." I growled quietly to myself.

"The victims of the fire were severely injured and there was one casualty."
"There was one casualty."

Maybe I should call him, that's sure to wake him up. He's gonna be pissed if I wake him up though.
Whatever, I'll just tell him why I called him then he'll understand. Though then I would be admitting to him that I cared about him and he would tease me FOREVER. AAAARRGGHH my head hurts now. Should I call his mom? Ya that would work. She's super nice. And she's sure to be awake, Hinata told me she leaves for work at eight. That might be an awkward conversation though. Aw who am I kidding I'll just tell her why I called, she won't tell Hinata. She likes me alot right? Well she did tell me to call her by her first name. Alright fine I'll call her.
