ABOUT:- Winter Normandie Addington is an extremely famous country and pop music artist who rose to fame with her singles 'GIRL' (2015) and 'Victim' (2016). She has about 31.9 million followers on Instagram and 20 million followers on YouTube. She is the youngest artist to win an American Music Award at the age of 15 years. She is a vocal feminist and human rights activist and has been associated with UNICEF.
EARLY LIFE:- Winter spend her childhood in Edmonton, Canada. She shifted to California at the age of 15 to continue with her music career.
Winter studied at Queen Elizabeth School in Edmonton till the age of 14 and then enrolled in an online program to complete high school.
CAREER:- Before moving to California, Winter busked on the streets, singing country and pop songs alike. She released her first EP 'So It Begins' on 5th October, 2014 in association with Constellation Records. The EP did receive a good response. She was then signed by Universal Music Group.
Winter moved to California for continuing her career. She released her first single 'GIRL' on 2nd February, 2015 and was an instant hit with the people. The music video received 11 million views in one day. Following the success of 'GIRL', she released her first album 'Love, Winter' on 13th May, 2015 which made her the youngest artist ever to win the most awards for their debut album. She also became the first artist whose debut album went platinum in the first month of release. Winter did the 'Love, Winter' tour alongside Taylor Swift's '1989' world tour, by being her main opening act. She also released music videos for '21st Century Girl' and 'Never Be Like Her' which made her the youngest artist to have singles to top the Billboard charts and have the most weeks at the first position.
'Victim', Winter's second famous single was released on 1st January, 2016. The song gave Winter fame like never before. The song became the top grossing song of 2016 and got Winter nominated for her first Grammy, though she didn't win. She released her second album 'Serenity' on 17th February, 2016. The album went platinum in a month and topped the Billboard 100 chart, making it her second album to top the charts. She went on an international tour for 'Serenity'. Her first collaboration was 'Rebel Without A Clue' featuring Selena Gomez which was nominated for best collaboration at the Grammys. She was named iTunes Artist of the Year with the release of Serenity. Serenity received both positive and negative response from critics. A few stated that, 'Serenity is an album that has been unable to express anything other serene country and pop music which is absolutely difficult to find these days. While others deemed the album to be Winter's poorest album yet and claimed that it failed to convey anything.
