Aside from feeling like complete shit, Iori was doing okay. She hadn't seen Misaki in days, but really, Iori couldn't blame her―from what Yamada had said, she hadn't been to school in a while either. Misaki hadn't been the greatest to their mother, even though the woman loved her to pieces.

She was feeling a different type of pain, Iori was sure of it. So, she would deal with the loneliness.

So far, though, she'd learned a lot of things throughout the whole fiasco. Kogane had come to visit a couple times, but other than that, her other friends hadn't even texted her. Tsuru had offered to take a boat to Hyogo (which made Iori laugh), and Yuu had promised her that he would take care of telling Tobio when he got back from camp.

Miwa had come by, bringing along Iori's cat among other things. Kenma offered to keep up her streak on a few rhythm games, and she'd even received a message from Bokuto (albeit through Kuroo).

But, there was something more surprising to Iori than everything else. By far, the people who had come to visit her most were none other than the Inarizaki boys' volleyball club.

Osamu had been by almost every day for the past week, bringing food and other tiny gifts. Kita had made her dinner twice, and one of those times, Aran had come along with some sandwiches his mom had made. Suna was also a frequent visitor, often bringing along tissues and whatever random, cheap DS game he could find at the game store.

Iori didn't find it ideal, but her mother's death made a lot of things clear for her. She didn't know what she was gonna do when she went back to school, seeing as she was basically friend-less, but it would only be three months until she got to leave for Okinawa.

Sitting on her couch, she stared dejectedly at the floor, fiddling with a barrette she'd found on the floor. She hadn't done anything for nearly a week, banking on the promise of "excused work" given straight from the principal of Inarizaki.

Her stepmom and dad were coming back with Takeo and Takumi tomorrow, and, according to her stepmom, neither of them had been told what happened yet. She had a day to pick herself up.

Iori didn't want to pick herself up. She felt like wallowing for forever.

She didn't move, even when Osamu let himself in with the spare key, neatly putting his stuff down near the front door and shuffling through the house. He cleaned up as he came through, putting things back in their original places and throwing trash away. He was always pretty quiet when he came, not making a noise as he cleaned up.

Finally, he entered the living room, taking a seat next to Iori. They hadn't hugged since the day it all went down, but sometimes she just wanted to cuddle up to him and cry.
