Y/N's POV
You sat in awe of Sugawara's house as you took off your shoes and placed them by the front door. His home was just so cozy and welcoming. Plus, it was warm!
"This is way better than being outside," you said contentedly. "Thank you again."
"Aw don't mention it," he replied giving you a toothy grin.
You smiled back and stood up to glance around the main entrance, admiring the lovely atmosphere. There were many family portraits and paintings you noticed. Most of them were pictures of Suga, but there were also a few of his parents. You bit back a giggle as you spotted one of him from first grade. He looked like a little silver haired angel.
"H-Hey are you laughing at me from ten years ago?!" the setter questioned.
"No I just think you look cute," you teased as his face flushed red. "Tobio never smiles like this for family photos anyway..."
You continued to skim over the rest of the walls, spotting something (favorite color) on a windowsill. It turned out to be a tiny potted flower.
"Oh great did you find a baby photo?" Sugawara said sarcastically as he hung up his coat.
You shook your head, "No I just really like (favorite flowers)..."
He was quiet for a moment, "You do?"
"Mhm," you hummed smiling softly. "They were the first flower I'd ever received from my soulmate. That's why I like them so much."
"Y-Your soulmate leaves you flowers?" he asked eagerly.
"Well not physical flowers," you blushed turning to face him. "They leave me drawings of flowers."
As soon as the words left your mouth your soulmate marks began to burn. Surely, it has to be him...
The silver haired teen scratched the back of his neck nervously, "Well... you know Kageyama-san I-"
"Call me (F/N)," you interrupted.
His jaw dropped, "A-Are you sure?"
You nodded and he smiled, gingerly stepping closer to you so that he was about a foot away. Your heart began to pound and your soulmate marks sizzled with a new intensity.
Sugawara blushed and leaned in, "Okay well... you know (F/N)...I-"
Just then a clap of thunder shook the house making you jump back and scream in fear. First Tobio and now the weather?! I think the universe hates me!
You grimaced and hesitantly looked back at Suga. It seemed like he was in a daze.
"I-I was saying um... that I... I can grab you a fresh pair of clothes! Haha... totally what I meant... to say..." he stammered.
"O-Oh! Yes, that would be nice. T-Thank you," you replied shakily as your face turned the color of a tomato.
He laughed nervously and hastily took off in the direction of the stairs, leaving you to stare as he clumsily stumbled up the steps. Since when did I get so bold like that?! He's calling me by my first name! And we were so close I-
The squish of water from your soaked jacket quickly brought you back to reality. Oh... right... still dripping wet from the storm...
Sugawara's POV
I can't believe I almost told her! Unless it's all just a coincidence that her soulmate leaves her flowers too. Ugh, this is so confusing... Sugawara thought as he collapsed at the top of the steps.
He couldn't deny the feeling coming from his soulmate marks though. It was such a rush. He placed a hand over his mouth in an attempt to calm himself down. Right now he needed to get you something dry to wear before you got a cold. I guess I can just let her borrow some of my clothes... he thought as his face began to heat up again.
Opening the door to his closet, he began to dig around for a shirt and some sweatpants. He ended up choosing a blue shirt that said "potato" on the front along with an old pair of pajama bottoms that no longer fit him. This isn't a big deal... he breathed trying to calm himself down. You're just lending her clothes for the night. It's not like you're her boyfriend or anything...
"H-Hey," he said clearing his throat when he came back into the room you were waiting in. "I just grabbed some stuff from my closet if that's fine. The bathroom is down there if you want to go shower and change. I'll just make some ramen for dinner."
You smiled and took the clothes from him, your finger tips lightly brushing his, "Thank you so much again Suga. Seriously, I-"
"Call me Koushi," he interrupted, mimicking how you did the same to him earlier.
You blushed, "Well then thank you... Koushi. I owe you big time."
His heart nearly leapt out of his chest when he heard his first name come from you. He had to pinch himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming.
"W-Well... I'm off to cook now!" he exclaimed happily.
You giggled adorably, "Don't burn yourself!"
He gave a thumbs up and waited until you turned around to fist pump the air. This was like one of the best nights of his whole life. He was on a first name basis with you now! At the thought of it his whole body surged with adrenaline. Daichi and Asahi are gonna flip out!
