Ashton sat at work, bored out of his mind. He was hoping that Emily would be back today.
Eventually, she walked in. She had long blue hair cascading down her back and something was different about her. She didn't look as happy as she had when Ashton previously saw her.
She walked towards the row that had magazines on them and grabbed one, sitting in a chair that was oddly placed. He slowly walked towards her as she slouched in the chair.
He took a seat next to her and quickly tried to think of a way to start a conversation. She looked up at him and closed the magazine, a fake smile appearing on her face. But Ashton didn't know it was fake.
"Where were you yesterday?" The curious boy asked, hoping not to come off as creepy.
Emily bit the inside of her mouth, not knowing if she should tell the boy that she had just met days ago where she had really been. She ended up saying, "Oh, I just had a doctors appointment." It wasn't completely a lie.
"Why?" He asked quickly, not thinking.
"Oh, just a check up. You'll find out what for sooner or later."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"You'll see."
The girl stood up and handed Ashton the magazine. Before walking out she quickly kissed the boys cheek.
Ashton was left dazed and confused.
