Laura decided to wait the next day to speak to try and speak to Eliza, so upon seeing her friend's car enter the parking lot on the new school day she made a B-line towards her. "I swear to you, I didn't say anything to him!" she quickly blurted as Eliza got out of the car.
"Oh yeah?" Eliza muttered as she began to storm towards the school with Laura right on her heels. "I think I was right a year ago, you said he was just a friend, I think it's more"
Laura shook her head, "You can ask Embry and Jared, they'll tell you I didn't say anything, and I don't like him that way"
"Please, you've known those boys for years, they'd lie right to my face to protect you" Eliza dismissed as she stomped up the stairs before jogging away from Laura.

Come lunchtime Laura made her way through the cafeteria and was surprised to see Bella at the table with everyone. Her tired eyes lowered as she dragged her feet to the Cullens' table and sat there, sliding her tray in front of her. She felt she couldn't sit with the others because of not just Bella, but now Eliza too. After eating half her lunch Laura saw Eliza getting up from the table and decided to go after her, tailing her to the bathroom. Just as Eliza was heading into a stall Laura pushed in with her.
"Hey!" Eliza shouted turning to see who it was.
Laura locked the door and faced her friend, now she couldn't run away from her. "Eliza, I swear to God Jace is just a friend"
"Really?" Eliza asked unimpressed as she folded her arms across her chest.
"Yes, I'm telling you the truth"
"Okay" Eliza shrugged, "So then stay away from him. Prove to me there isn't something secretly going on between you two"
Laura frantically nodded, "I will happily steer clear of him, I promise"
"Good, and I want you to make up with Bella, she's invited us all to see Face Punch"
Laura knitted her brows, "I- I don't know about Bella, Eliza there's more going on there than you can't understand" she stuttered out awkwardly.
"Well you're both my friends and if I'm willing to forgive you, then this is part of the deal" she said sternly. "Now, go make up and get out so I can pee"
The brunette couldn't help but laugh lightly as she nodded and unlocked the stall before stepping out to give Eliza some privacy.

Leaving the bathroom as the bell rang she waited by the cafeteria doors until she saw Bella.
"Hey" she quietly greeted. Bella was taken by surprise, which was evident on her face though she greeted her back as they began to walk down the hall together. "So, Face Punch?" Laura smirked teasingly causing a light giggle from Bella.
"Yeah, uh, you wanna come?" Bella offered.
Laura nodded, pausing for a moment before she exhaled, "I've been blaming you... about, you know" she shrugged, not wanting to really say it out loud. Bella looked down and nodded, having known but not tried to do anything about it. "I heard you've been hanging out with Jacob, fixing a motorbike?" Laura asked with a grin and raised brows.
"Yeah, kind of an adrenaline junkie now" Bella simpered.
"That why you got on a random guy's motorbike?"
"Jess told you?" Bella breathed shaking her head. Looking around Bella took a step closer to Laura and whispered, "I saw him" Though Laura's unsure expression and head tilt prompted Bella to continue, "When I do, risky stuff, I can see Edward... If that's the only way I can see him..."
"Just be careful okay" Laura advised wearily. "Nothing too crazy. I'm not gonna tell you to stop because I know you won't, and I, more than anyone else understand wanting to do it" she admitted sadly.
"I'm sorry about that night" Bella apologised regretfully as they reached her Biology class.
"Yeah, me too" Laura breathed as they parted ways as she headed off down the hall to her own class.

Later that night it was time to go and see the movie, Laura was making her way down the sidewalk, unfortunately running a little on the late side. Though as she approached the theatre she saw Mike and Jacob outside, the latter of the two she was surprised to see.
"Jacob" she smiled, happy to see her friend as she embraced him.
"Hey" he breathed, hugging her back. "How're you feeling?"
Laura gave a small shrug and half-hearted smile in reply, before speaking. "Where's everyone else?"
"Well Eliza's in the bathroom and I think Bella's on the phone to the others" Mike answered looking over Laura's shoulder towards where Bella had been standing.
"Yeah, and Jace should be here any minute now" Jacob mumbled as he began to look around.
The colour drained from Laura's face at the mention of Jace, "Jake, you did not invite him!"
"Bella said it was cool"
"He broke up with Eliza yesterday" Laura told him a worried expression on her face, "Quick call him, tell him not to come"
"Tell who not to come?" A voice asked from behind.
She didn't want to turn around, but she didn't have to, she knew it was him. Jace moved to stand next to Jake, now in front of Laura as she eyed him. "Eliza is going to be out any minute, leave" she said grabbing his wrist.
"Oh my God" Laura heard Eliza's voice scoff. Looking back she saw the girl standing just outside the theatre and her eyes shifted to the grasp Laura had on Jace.
"I was trying to tell him to leave" Laura attempted to explain as she let her grip go and faced her friend.
"Yeah, whatever" Eliza grumbled. "Enjoy the movie" she sarcastically added as she began walking away from the theatre. Bella was returning from her phone call as Eliza walked passed, she asked where she was going but got ignored.
Laura watched as her friend faded off into the distance and Bella approached before she looked angrily at Jace, "Stay away from me!" she shouted, before heading off in the opposite direction Eliza had gone.
Jace looked in both directions before letting out a sigh and picking the direction to go. "Laura, Laura" he called as he began jogging after her leaving just Bella, Mike, and Jacob to see the movie.
