Present day;

Sophie sighed as she slid a clip through her hair, it was silver with stars on it holding a large amount of curls in place. She remembered the night after the bike accident so well, her and Dean had sat on the sofa talking for hours. Sophie had made him about three coffees because they had so much to talk about; what music they liked, what they didn't, their favourite colours, any allergies they had or things they didn't like to eat, where they'd been on holiday, the things their parents used to do for them when they were little. They were quite alike but in the same breath so different. Dean had no allergies and Sophie swells up like a balloon if she even touched something that had looked at a banana. They laughed and teased each other and even watched a little bit of television. Dean didn't seem to mind that Sophie was in her long sleeve brown pyjama top and shorts with a big plaster over her leg or that she'd taken her make up off and her hair was up in a messy bun. He only seemed to care about how she was, what she liked and that they kept talking. Eventually Dean had to leave as it was nearing four in the morning and Ella would be home soon, Dean told Sophie he'd come back soon and hoped she had a nice night. It was strange how lovely he was to Sophie and seemed to trust her but was so rude and didn't seem to care what he said- like the way he'd had a go at Leah. Sophie didn't really care either, as long as Dean was nice to her, what did it matter?

Sophie spun around looking at herself in the mirror, her choice of outfit was a pale pink dress with long sleeves that were flared, a tight middle that clung to her chest and that she was practically spilling out of and it came down tight over her backside with a laced back that showed her smooth tanned skin. Her hair was lose with the clip to the side and her make up was its usual large lashes and a little eye shadow. On her feet were some silver closed at the toe tall heeled shoes, her legs were covered with skin coloured tights because it was cold out and she held a thin grey cardigan that would keep her warm when she waited for the taxi at the end of her night. She sighed, remembering the night she was attacked- the horrible eyes in her mind again, they were red and the veins on the skin around the outside were noticeable. Now that she thought about it, it wasn't so scary- it was still pretty scary but now that she knew what they meant and why the were like that- now that she finally understood that night, it made a little more sense... If such a thing could ever make sense.

Things were so different now to the way they were then. Sophie had stayed the same person and so had Dean, just the things that Sophie knew and did were worlds apart from how it used to be, her nights were different, her life followed a different pattern and everywhere she turned she was faced with the way things had been presented to her. Sophie didn't like secrets but if she wanted to keep her life, and Dean, she'd not say a word and suffer the dark things that went on around behind the backs of people that were totally un-aware. If it slipped out, people could get hurt and be taken from her- killed to make sure Sophie kept her mouth shut. She couldn't take that risk and wouldn't dare.

"Sophie!? Are you ready yet?" Called Jennie, Sophie jumped a little and tucked her hair out her eyes,

"Yeah! I'm ready, I'm coming... I'm coming." Sophie said grabbing her phone and totting out her room and negotiating the stairs almost like an expert at the narrow steps in her big heels. Jennie was waiting at the bottom, a smile on her face and her car keys in her hand. All the months that had passed, Jennie was another thing in Sophie's life that had always stayed the same and she was so pleased.

"I can't leave it much longer, Ivan needs a bath." Jennie shrugged,

"It's fine, Jennie... Thanks," Sophie smiled leading the way out the car. Ivan was already tucked in the car seat waiting. Sophie walked up the drive, folding her arms around her as the cool night air wrapped around her and she opened the door on the car. As she closed it, sitting in, Ivan jumped awake where he was dozing. Sophie hated it when he was dragged places with her, if she didn't go out and drink, Ivan could get a better nights sleep and have something constant in his life. Sophie was quite in the car, Jennie was chatting away and waving her hands and laughing. Sophie just nodded along with her, smiled and said yes or no in the right places- really she just wanted to get to town, get into the club and see Dean. He would be busy working, but of course Sophie's friends would all be there. Since they met Dean, he insisted they drunk and danced in 'The Falls', it had been done up and the drinks were cheap which gave most of them a pretty good reason to go. Sophie liked her friends, but she liked Dean more and waiting all week to see him was too long, so tonight couldn't come quicker.
