Navigating a fictional world as a reader can be confusing so I added this chapter as an encyclopedia.


                          
Species
                          
Elves: Smaller than the average human. Typically skilled in stealth. Better hearing, sense of smell, sense of sight than other species. Quicker reaction time than other species. Almost extinct because elf meat is considered a delicacy in too many places. (mainly in Chaus)
                          
Zorbians: Very strong. Green scaly skin. Have a different digestive system than other species and can consume different things.
                          
Humans: They're human.
                          


                          
The Main Characters
                          
Lié: female elf, grew up in Chaus. Her ship's name is Hubris. 
                          
Rutha: male human, born in Tharo.
                          
Leo: male human, grew up in Lukra. Ship's name is Jussum.
                          
KM-13: half clone, half machine. Escaped from a laboratory and has had a close relationship to Chaus ever since.


                          
Technology
                          
Rather than using mobile phones, there are techdevices. These are more customizable than mobile phones. Techdevices may enable teleportation. 
                          
Avatars are an expensive way to travel safer. Both buying and maintaining avatars is very pricey. Dying while wearing an avatar means dying in your real body as well. Avatars by themselves do not enable teleportation. (But one can teleport in an avatar using a techdevice)
                          
Spaceships come in different sizes, made from different materials, and with different functions. 


                          
Planets
                          
Chaus - also known as the criminal planet. There's plenty of gladiator-type fights, drugs, gangs, weapon dealers, and human/other species traffickers here. It's a place where anything can be bought for money. That is, if one manages not to get robbed. The atmosphere is dry. The weather is always cloudy, the ground is made up of gray matter. Chaus culture is inspired by Greek mythology. Chaus-own foods are either made off blood, bones, flesh or Chaus-own plants. Asphodel-plants are the only edible plants that grow on Chaus. 
                          
Twisted trees grow only in Chaus. Their roots are moving, trying endlessly to suffocate anyone that steps too near to the tree. Dead bodies provide good nourishment to the trees. When cut off, the roots of a twisted tree are a flexible material that can be used in countless ways.
                          
Tharo - is a planet that is mostly known for 2 things: 1. The people who live here are very peaceful and communal. 2. The monsoon winds of Tharo provide an ideal climate for medicinal herbs to grow. The kind that can be sold for a lot of money on the black market.
                          
Lukra - For a price, the police/army of Lukra protects other planets. The ruling class of Lukra, also known as Lex, perceive themselves as the rulers of the universe. Lukra is considered one of the most beautiful planets in the universe.
