"Came into this world daddy's little girl. Daddy made a soldier out of me."
Caia was hurrying down the sidewalk. As she has been walking, the pinprick of fear in her heart has blossomed and had know taken over her whole body. She knew something was going to go wrong, and was doing everything she could to prevent it. However, her intuition was right but her prevention was not enough.
"Hey, girl." The low, purring voice stopped Caia right in her tracks and her blood ran cold. Slowly, warily, Caia turned towards the voice. There, next to a lamp post, stood her father. He was bathed in the pale light, a smirk evident on his face. Caia glanced down to see a few of the fingers on one of his hands were shortened, no doubt by the explosion he had supposedly been in.
Jack Sinclair's smirk seemed to grow wider as he saw the fear etched on his daughter's face. "Did you miss me?" He taunted.
Jack pushed himself off the pole and began stepping towards Caia. Caia began walking backwards, keeping her body turned to her father. She knew it would be a bad idea to try to run now, as it was inevitable that her father would catch up. She needed to buy herself some time, distract Jack, before making a break for it.
"What are you doing here?" Caia shot. "I thought you were dead, everyone thought you were dead. But no, you would never make it that simple, that easy, would you?" Caia sneered at the man.
Jack smirked as he continued to walk towards Caia. "What can I say, Caia? I'm not a simple man. I couldn't make it too easy for you. That wouldn't be any fun." Caia rolled her eyes at her father's response.
"Daddy made me dance and daddy held my hand. Daddy liked his whisky with his tea."
"Why are you doing this?" Caia questioned. "Are you working with Hal Cooper or the Gargoyle King?"
Jack shrugged. "Maybe, maybe not," he replied, nonchalantly. "What do you think?" Jack cocked his head, trying to illicit an angry reaction from Caia. He was taunting her on purpose, and although it was very obvious, it was also working.
"I think you're a horrible person," Caia spat.
Jack rolled his eyes. "Oh, Caia, you do like to project your blame onto others, don't you?"
Caia furrowed her eyebrows, partly in anger that she didn't understand what her father was alluding to. "What do you mean?" She demanded.
Jack looked up at Caia, a hint of a smile growing at the corners of his mouth. "I know you like to blame me for all the bad things that have happened to you. But let me tell you something, girl. The only common denominator connecting all the unfortunate circumstances you've encountered in your life is you."
"Daddy made me fight, it wasn't always right, but he said 'girl, it's your second amendment.'"
Caia's eyes darkened as she glared at her father. "That doesn't make any sense!" She exclaimed. "Just because bad things happened to me doesn't mean it's my fault," she shot.
Jack scoffed. "Sure. Keep telling yourself that." Caia's face hardened. Jack smiled, as he saw that he had hit a nerve.
Caia's anger produced a confidence, and she began walking forward towards her father as she yelled at him. "You'll never get away with this," she yelled. "Jughead Jones, he's onto you. He'll find out who the Gargoyle King is, and then it's over for you and Hal. You'll go back to jail, and this time you won't get back out." Caia stopped as she shoved a finger in Jack's direction.
She was satisfied, sure, but it was, however, at this moment that she realized she had made a big mistake in getting this close. Jack took this anger and mistake as the perfect opportunity and jumped toward, pouncing on Caia.
