Blaire was saying something to Adrienne as the latter leaned up against the bar to order some more shots of liquor out of frustration. But that all seemed to be in the distance as I walked up to Addison Cruz like my life depended on it.
"Hey," I said with a smirk as I watched her lips turn into a grin as well. I watched her brown eyes flicker from my face then down to my outfit, and I couldn't help but feel a little self-conscious.
"What?" She yelled out instead. Oh, the music.
"Hey!" I yelled out louder but then she just giggled in response.
"I'm just fucking with you," she paused and swiveled around in the bar seat, "Just making sure you didn't forget who I was or anything. I'm not wearing my glasses tonight." I could feel my face blush red at the reminder of my idiot self not being able to differentiate tennis girl and math girl.
I leaned down and put both my arms on either side of her as she tilted her face up to look at my face, "You look gorgeous tonight either way." It was Addison's turn to blush a deep red, which made her face glow nicely against the surrounding lights. I watched her lips part, then press firmly together.
"And you look quite dashing, Genius," she said loud enough for only me to hear.
I teased, "Is that a good compliment?" I inched my face lower and closer to hers.
She smiled, "It is," she giggled as she brought her hand up to touch the collar of my black button-up, "You know how to clean up. How do you dress all girly with lipstick one day, to this-" she used her hand motions to indicate my outfit, and I could feel myself swell up in confidence.
"I don't know, maybe you bring out the best of me," I replied but then felt a tap on my arm. I glanced over to see Adrienne point over to some shots of whiskey that were perfectly poured in four shot glasses. I gave Addison a look, who just grinned as she leaned over to grab one.
"Thanks, Adrienne!" She yelled out, and without moving from my position of Addison between me, mostly because I didn't want to lose her tonight, I took the second shot glass. .
We all raised our shot glasses together, then clinked them, "Cheers!"
Addison and I both took our shots together and our arms almost touched from how close we were to each other. I tried not to make a face as the whiskey went down my throat, and made a mental note that that would be the last shot I'd take of the night.
Out of the corner of my eye, I watched Adrienne slam her shot glass down on the bar and start to strut over to where June and Riley were dancing together. I silently hoped that she wouldn't start a fight as we just got here.
My eyes focused back on Addison, whose back was pressed against the bar. I pushed myself closer to her, my leg between hers as I moved my hands softly against her arms.
The black-haired girl before me bit her lower lip, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
My breath caught in my throat as I fought with my conscience for a response, "Like what?"
She shrugged lightly as I saw her eyes flicker down to my lips, "Like as if I'm the only girl in this room. There are a bunch of beautiful girls who like girls in the club tonight, so why look at me like that?"
Because everybody else pales in comparison to you, Addison.
I smiled to cover up my thought, hoping it wouldn't flicker across my face in obviousness as I leaned in to touch my lips on her exposed collarbone. "Because I'm here to see you tonight." I muttered, "Only you."
Addison gave me a small, doubting look before her lips turned into a grin, "Well, jeez. Someone really wants to get under my skirt tonight." She tilted her head to give me more access to her skin as I trailed my lips up to her neck. She gave out a small moan, "I would've definitely let you eat my pussy out regardless of the sweet talk, Melanie."
