John Laurens

"Alex, you look great, stop being mean to yourself." I tried to reassure. He was wearing some distressed ripped jeans with a black long sleeved shirt, along with his combat boots.

"No I don't. I'm changing." He stated.

"You better not. Besides, the guys will be here any minute to pick us up." I said.

"You're right." Alexander sighed, "Whatever."

"Are you sure you don't want to bring a different shirt, though?" I suggested, "It's hot out."

"My scars, remember? They're pretty red still. I don't need a million questions about them." Alex explained, "Let's just get ready to head out."

"Alright." I said, then smirked "But first, I have something for you."

"What is it?" Alex asked.

"Come here and find out." I said.

He raised an eyebrow but walked toward me. I snaked an arm around his waist and kissed him passionately.

He kissed back. I smiled against his lips.

We actually hadn't fought last night or today at all. Maybe talking about our issues actually helped.

Alexander pulled away all too soon, "We'd better not get too ahead of ourselves."

I smiled at him, "You're probably right. Hey, I'm happy we made up yesterday. We're okay now, right?"

"We're okay." He said, returning the smile.

"Okay." I replied, "And remember you can talk to me about anything. I know you've been in a rut lately."

"I'm always in a rut." He shrugged.

"That shouldn't be what you're used to. We'll work through this. Together." I said, "I don't want what happened in January to happen again. I can't lose you. Not like that."

"Oh, but you can lose me any other way?" Alex asked, pulling away from me.

"That's not what I meant." I said, "I'm sorry."

He scoffed, "Whatever. I'm gonna wait in the other room." I rolled my eyes.

Alex then left the bedroom to wait. Laf and Herc were picking us up to go to Thomas' party. We weren't exactly friends with him, but he did give us an invite.

I decided to give him space and stay in the bedroom, quickly redoing my hair. I looked in the mirror to make sure I looked alright. I wore a black tank top with bluejeans, as well as my converse.

My phone began buzzing. Laf was calling me.

"What's up?" I answered.

"We are in the parking garage." Laf said.

"Alright, we'll be out in a sec." I replied.

"Okay." Laf said before I hung up the phone.

I left the bedroom and saw Alex scrolling on his phone.

He looked up at me when I walked out, still seeming to be annoyed.

"They're here. Ready to go?" I asked.

"Yeah." Alex simply replied. He stood and pocketed his phone, leaving the apartment.

I rushed after him, not forgetting to turn the lights off and lock the door. I made sure I had my keys, as well.
