Kianna
"Hey, Kianna." I looked away from my computer.
"Boss lady wants you to stop by before you go home." Trent said.
"Ok, but can you knock next time." I said smiling.
He smiled back. "Of course." he said knocking then walking in completely.
"What?"
"Nothing, I just overheard some of the things Valerie said to you yesterd—" he started but I cut him off.
"If you came in here to be rude, and ruin my vibe I'm going to ask you to leave." I said.
He held his hands up. "No I didn't come in here for that. I just want you to know that I think you're a strong woman, and for you to be here unbothered, with most people hating you is a skill."
I looked back at my computer. "Are you tryna get on my good side, Mr.Jones?"
He laughed. "Just trying to let you know I don't judge, and I'm one of the people everybody hate too."
"Hmm...well good for us then. We're the most hated." I smiled.
I wonder why they hate us so much. We're all here making the same amount almost, we work the same amount of hours most days, and we all have to make a living.
"Why they hate you?" I asked.
He sat in the chair in front of me. "I'm friendly..obviously."
"So they hate you because you're friendly?" I asked confused.
"Yes, that and because I was also....on some other shit but as you can see I'm fine." he said shrugging.
"You was? I'm sorry ." I said. Even though he acted as if it wasn't a big deal.
"Yeah. Everybody here is judgmental, and I hate that. I was also the youngest here until you showed up, so that's probably why they hate us both." Trent said.
"They're just mad. Well let me tell you something, don't pay no attention to these people." I told him.
The boss assistant, Jackie came inside staring us down. "Mrs.Knight doesn't pay y'all to talk all day. Get to work." she snapped.
She stood there waiting for Trent to get up. He looked at me sighing standing up. He walked out. Jackie stared me down.
"You and him are going to slow our business down." she said.
"You're slowing me down standing there." I said straightening my computer up.
"I already know about your ways. Trent is just like the others, don't want nothing but free pussy." she laughed. "That's all you offer anyway."
"Excuse yourself Ms.Jackie, but I have work to do and you're stanking my office up with your top lip." I told her smiling.
"Your smart mouth will get you nowhere, be careful around here girl." she said slamming a stack of papers on my desk. "Make a extra 500 copies of those." she said leaving out.
