Demi's pov
By 10 pm Wilmer's in the hotel room with Emilio and Bella and continuing the schedule we've had all week. I'm here with Ava and Maya like I have been all week. I haven't exactly mentioned to Wilmer that Bailey's on her way, I'll do it at some point tonight, but with Maya's day it hasn't exactly been the right time to say anything. It's just been doctors in and out of the room all day long to check vitas, give medicine, and try a few tests with Maya.
I hear the door open and I watch Bailey walk into the room looking nothing less than exhausted. I move closer to Ava and allow her to sit beside me, which she does.
"Hey, Bailey." Ava says quietly.
"Hi."
"How are you holding up?" I ask.
She keeps head low and stare at the floor and gives me a small shrug, "I'm not really, but it's whatever I guess."
"If it makes you feel any better, none of us really are." Ava says.
"Not really, but thanks I guess."
Despite her hardest to not allow me to see it, I see the red and puffy eyes. I see the wet eyelashes. I see the sweatshirt she's wearing and know why she's wearing it. I can hear the numbness in her voice. I can tell by her body posture that she's really low right now.
"You mentioned a doctors appointment when we talked, are you feeling ok?" I ask.
She lets out a weak laugh, "Well I have learned that while in the psychiatrists office it is a really bad idea to admit that you want to yeet yourself into another dimension because of your mother. Then when asked if you'd do it answer, probably. Don't worry, I talked myself out of a psych hospital trip. It wasn't easy but I accomplished the impossible with a lot of lying and lots of acting. Um, it's needless to say I got new meds and my mom called me screaming at me because I'm no longer on xanax and she wants my xanax still."
"I thought she took your adderall." Ava says.
Bailey looks at Ava and gives a nod, "She does. She's only left me with the antidepressant. Saying quote 'I'm not a fucked up bitch like you are Bailey, I don't need that shit. I pay for this crap, I'll take what I want from it' and I just nodded and didn't say anything. All I said was how I felt and my doctor assumed it was because of wrong meds and changed them. So now my moms mad because she just got a call letting her know they got changed and she's not at all happy I ruined her whole free xanax thing."
"So has she thought about rehab?" Ava asks.
"Evidently she met my dad in a psych hospital and hooked up with him afterwards. That's what my grandma says at least, I wouldn't even be surprised."
I gently rub her back, "Well it's important to be honest and hopefully time away from your mom will take a little stress away from you. Did you tell her you were coming here?" I ask.
"I told my dad."
Good enough for me.
"Alright, did you bring your meds?" I ask.
"I haven't been taking them. They weren't working and I wasn't feeling good so I just didn't bother."
"Is there anything else you want to talk about?" I ask.
She shrugs, "I can't really think of anything to talk about. My minds just all over the place and everything's just blurry. A lot's happened but like I just can't calm down enough to talk about it all."
"That's ok sweetheart." I say.
"Why doesn't your mom go to the doctor herself and lie her way through questions and get on adderall and xanax?" Ava asks.
