CHAPTER 18: A New Light

What a warm atmosphere.

Izuku craved heat, it was something that would made him feel safe unlike the lonely place he formerly stayed at that was unbearably cold with sparks of what you would call heat here and there; it was similar to that of a fire from a short candle that was skinny and could go out from a child's gust of wind through the mouth; it indeed required just a blow.

"That was so manly, dude! You protected our teacher!"

"Don't mind them, Zu-kun. Nobody is judging you here."

"You'll always be labeled as a hero here Midoriya, kero."

He heard of the warm remarks, but what was remained unheard will always be brought to the ears again.

"Ne, Midoriya-kun. Why'd you call Aizawa-sensei Dad?"

His closed eyes were tempting to grow wide, very wide. The boy almost forgot the emotional blunder he made yesterday that made the name slip right past his dry lips that lacked attention due to the situation the past day. Izuku gave them the utmost presence now, he licked and bit them; unsure of how or what he should answer to their plea of curiosity.

"He's my damn kid, did you guys need to really ask him?" Their teacher came in, the white bandages surrounding his whole being due to the bruises and decayed skin that made his appearance unsightly. The bandages looked more like a style choice more than means of recovery if anyone were to look.

No one's first thought whilst looking at the mummified man would be that he fought thug after thug and got crept up by a villain with a quirk that could skin off your whole being; torturing your epidermis, flesh, and cells before experiencing what would you call death.

"HE'S YOUR DAD?! YOU MEAN HE GOT SOMEONE PREGNANT?!" His classmates eyes were wider than the boy could've ever imagined in this dark world, it showed how much of a suprise it came to be according to Kaki.

"But doesn't he have a different surname? What's Midoriya from?-"

"Let me answer first you darn brats." His scarf that looked similar to the bandages spun in the air, red eyes glowing out of intimidation. The class stilled and stayed right they were, which was the middle of the class just awkwardly standing; awaiting for the anticipated answer from the question that would shock even a fortune teller.

He took a deep breath, sighing before forming the words that would answer the question. "I adopted the kid, turned him into an Aizawa and made the problem child register with his original name in UA." Their homeroom teacher explained rather briefly.

"Wha-?!"

"That's fúckin' right. The name you know right now is the one I knew from when I was a damn kid." Katsuki grumbled after Izuku managed to find the male and made him spill just a smidge of what was left of his peaceful childhood.

"So that explains the first day! Man, it gave us all a scare when you acted like you were gonna pick a fight with him only to end up ruffling his head." Kirishima sighed, shaking his head; his sharp teeth showing as he made a look of forced realization.

"Shut up, shítty hair." The sharp-tounged male spat briefly as the class could not form the words to actually react to the statements they've just heard of.

One was about to break the silence when they were rudely cut off by the bell that would determine whether it would break your perfect attendance or not; which was not really a problem for the determined and somewhat curious Class 1A students.

A sigh escaped their lips as each student went back to their assigned seats, it was painfully obvious that the conversation would be continued as soon as the lunch break starts.

_

And it did, the cafeteria was especially noisy today. Yet amongst the loud voices and suprised answer, students from different classes who tried to eaves drop couldn't. They had no ability of follow the mess of a story those hero students managed to talk about. Their incident was heard of, but that didn't seem like the topic at hand at all.

Slowly and bit by bit, Izuku explained to them through answers that the class were satisfied with; certain or rather most information was obviously kept confidential. What the class derived from his answers was, the villain who held him captive helped him get away from his biological father and also help save their homeroom teacher. The answer was brief yet they would expect that due to the repetitive questions that would make your ears bleed.

Apparently, the green-head also saved their plum-haired classmate Shinso. They didn't expect that scene was how their friendship came to be as of now, the start truly always comes in the most different forms and times.

Soon, the day ended just like that. A satisfied class with a boy whose weight was lifted off his shoulders.

But it seems like they'll be tackling another obstacle right after the incident.

"THE SPORTS FESTIVAL??" The class exclaimed rather loudly.

Eraserhead sighed heavily, "Did I stutter, brats? We'll increase security to make sure it doesn't happen again, and there's going to be hundreds of pro- heroes watching; they'll take action if something happens." He scratched his stubble, the bandages were already off of his body due to Recovery Girl's quirk and his night's rest. It was such a treat for the homeroom teacher to sleep soundly after he deals with a rather troublesome class.

"Your classmate, Midoriya will do the student pledge 'cause if I chose Bakugo, he'll throw the whole formality thing off." The underground hero scratched his unruly ebony hair.

"Their's going to be three events, I have no clue what they're gonna be so be prepared, brats. You'll be going against Classes 1B to 1K, theres even a chance you'll go against yourselves. Better not mess it up." The bored teacher finally showed some enthusiasm and instructed, the class somewhat had a sense of superiority and determination as they thought of the possibilities that could happen during the sports festival.

Let's see who will fall and who will triumph, shall we?
