EXTRACT FROM DETECTIVE HARPER HAYES' CASE FILES

WARNING: descriptions of death. Read at your own discretion. My dms are always open.

This morning we got the results back from the coroner regarding Ian's autopsy results.

When we found him at the crime scene, there weren't any apparent injuries but he was very clearly dead and had been for quite some time. Once again, it was Harry Winks that found the janitor. The boy, if not guilty, is just incredibly unlucky.

The coroner's findings reported that Ian was killed by an allergic reaction in combination with drugging. His blood contained high levels of alcohol and Rohypnol Warfarin, a drug used to knock someone unconscious. In smaller doses, it can be used to medically treat insomnia and even he used as a pre-medication for surgery. This was deliberate though as his blood contained three times the recommended dose in addition to the fact that Ian had a slight allergy to Barley so stayed clear of Barley based alcoholic drinks.

This would suggest that we're looking for someone who suffers from insomnia or has access to someone they know who suffers from insomnia? However, Harry doesn't fit in here. This could clear him as a suspect unless someone that he is close to has been prescribed Rohypnol.

The case has been complicated by the second murder. We have no idea if we're looking for one person, two people, three people? Are the murders connected? They are very different in their natures. Cassandra was stabbed thirteen times and Ian was poisoned. It could be argued that one was far more violent than the other. And how do Harry and Dele fit in with all of this? It's clear that the evidence favours them but why? They had the means, they had the opportunity but what was their motive?

I'm going to need more time to sift through the evidence again and piece it all together before I solve it. It might be that Howard and I need to go back through and question the whole team and staff again.

The media and the public are really piling the pressure on. I understand why. It's a high profile case involving a very big English football club in the biggest UK city. They want to feel safe and they're looking to us to do that but they can't feel safe if the killer(s) is/are still at large.

Whoever did this, I'm coming for them and it's their safety that can't be guaranteed.
