We engaged in light conversation before the lady came back.

"Here you all go, enjoy."

"Thank you so much."

August reach over and passed her two fifties.

"I see you runnin' ta' ya car checkin' on your babies. Go do some nice for them."

"Thank you sir." She smiled and tears filled her eyes.

"You're such a sweetheart." I kissed his nose.

"I know how it feel."

We ate in a comfortable silence.

"You all done?"

We nodded and stacked our plates, making it easier for whoever had to clean.

"Your total is $98.22." Tae passed her his card and she walked away.

"How much we tippin'?"

"Whatever the person in front of you throws down, match it."

We ended up in 95 dollars in tips for her. We all came from well established households, so helping someone else was nothing. She passed Tae his card back and I passed her the tip money. She looked at it, as tears streamed down her face.

"Thank you niña." She engulfed me in a hug.

We walked out the building and she followed us going to her car.

"Wait." She yelled as we walked to the car.

She opened her car door and a little boy, who looked no older then seven, jumped out with a little girl.

"Miguel say thank you." He ran to us and I bent down to hug him.

"Thank you for making my mommy happy."

I smiled feeling tears coming as Chris dapped him up.

"You're welcome little one." Tae smiled.

"C'mere little man." He ran and stood in front of August.

"How old are you?"

"Six." He smiled showcasing his missing teeth.

"You're a big boy." Dess smiled, highfiving him.

"Did the tooth fairy come for your teeth?" Imani asked, bending down as well.

"Yes!" He pulled out a bill and smiled. "A whole fove dollars."

"Really?"

"Yes I was sleep in my race car bed and then she bought it."

I was happy to learn they at least had a home to sleep in.

"Tell ya what." August pulled out his wallet. "I'll give you twenty more."

"Thank you sir!" He hugged him.

"Oh my God." Arii put her face in Karter's shirt, sobbing.

"He thinks he's cool, i'll give you a twenty too." Chris laughed as I reached in the back seat retrieving my purse.

"Here." I passed her the check.
