Violetta, Leon, Francesca, Diego, Maxi and Naty were still in shocked silence at the sound of the gun shots. The sobs of Ludmila’s mom were still the only sounds heard. The group, even Luca, felt badly because they couldn't even say a word to comfort her. But what good was giving her a comfort that they couldn't even give themselves. Luca lead Ludmila's mother away, trying to put a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Where were Ludmila and Federico? Were they being held hostage? Were they hurt? Were they the ones the shooters were shooting at? Were they… dead? These were the questions everybody was asking themselves repeatedly. They tried so hard not to think of them as dead. But, at the same time, they couldn't rule that out as one of the options. They also thought the same about Molly. No matter how much they disliked her, they didn't want anything to happen to her.
Violetta looked at the group through wide eyes. It had just dawned on Violetta that no one had tried to call or text Ludmila. "Did anyone try to call Ludmila or Federico?" Violetta asked breaking the silence.
"Oh! No! Call her, call her" Leon and Maxi responded. Violetta took out her cell phone and started to dial Ludmila's number.
"Hey, wait a minute!" Francesca exclaimed causing everyone to look at her.
"What is it Fran?" Violetta asked.
"Wouldn't Ludmila have called at least one of us by now?" Fran asked.
"Think about it Fran, what is the first thing you think of when you're in danger?" Francesca looked at her with a blank expression. "Getting out of there! She probably hasn't realized that calling was an option. Besides her letting us know that she was okay would give us peace of mind" Violetta explained.
Violetta dialed Ludmila's number. "It's ringing"
Maxi felt vibrating in his pocket. He took the phone out of his pocket and answered it. "Hello" He said shakily.
"Maxi?" Violetta asked, confused. She turned towards the boy who was standing next to Naty and Leon. "Reallly?" She hung up her phone.
"I'm sorry. I completely forgot that Ludmila had let me borrow her phone during free period. I left mine at home" Maxi said.
"Ugh!" Violetta huffed, her frustration with situation building.
"Violetta, it's ok. Try Federico" Leon said.
"If Maxi is sure he doesn't have any more phones?" Violetta said to Maxi.
Maxi checked his pockets. "Nope. All clear. just Ludmila's"
Violetta was about to call Federico when her phone ringing interrupted her dialing. "Ahh" She dropped her phone on the ground.
"What? What is it Violetta?" Leon asked.
"It's my dad! Hopefully, he won't call back if I ignore it" It wasn't that Violetta didn't want to answer his call, it was that she had a very strong feeling that he knew what it was about. With the amount of media here this story was on every news channel.
Violetta picked up her phone off the ground.
"Jackson, I told you time and time again that Molly would needed to be put into a private school but no, Mr. She would be exposed more to the real world in public school. You don't see private schools blowing up, do you?"
"Not now Nicolette"
The boastful, argumentative voices of Molly's parents rang out and could be heard throughout the parking lot. The group turned to see them, Jackson and Nicolette Simons. Contrary to popular belief, Jackson is the most down to earth person. Nicolette is... let's just say that she's the reason Molly is the way she is.
