"Ugh! I hate this! I hate this! I hate this!" Sophie groaned as she banged her head against her locker.
Biana groaned beside Sophie. "I'm right there with you," she agreed.
School had gotten back into session a few days after Sophie and her friends were released from the hospital and she was absolutely exhausted. That also meant that Edaline was finally home.
Sophie sighed as she opened her locker to get her things. "I don't get it. How can we possibly be learning in school when there are way more important things that we should be doing," Sophie complained.
"Yeah, it will be a struggle. Tam even stayed home today," Biana said.
"Wow, he must be hurting so much. Well at least we will be able to visit Linh today," Sophie said, trying to be positive.
Sophie also wondered why Biana already knew that Tam didn't come to school.
"Yeah, I miss having Linh with us already," Biana said, frowning.
"And Dex," Marella said, coming up behind them.
"Yeah, I can't imagine how hard it will be for him," Sophie said.
The three stayed silent as they thought about their losses.
And it was all because of the Neverseen.
"You know what we need? A distraction," Biana said.
"I'll be the distraction!" Keefe called from behind them.
Sophie rolled her eyes. "Yes Keefe, you'll be a terrible distraction," she teased.
Keefe pretended to look wounded. "That hurts Foster."
"Good," Sophie said, sticking her tongue out.
"I know! We can ditch class!" Keefe suggested, already having a mischievous look in his eyes.
"No way Keefe! I'm not some trouble- making Mop-head like you!" Sophie said, crossing her arms.
"WILL EVERYONE PLEASE STOP CALLING ME MOP-HEAD?!" Keefe shrieked.
"What did you say? I couldn't hear you, Mop-head," Biana teased.
Keefe's eyes twitched as he threatened, "you'll regret this!"
The three girls laughed at Keefe. "What I meant," Biana said. "Was that we should have a distraction by hanging out! We should have a girls night to get our minds off of things. We can do it tonight!"
"Oh! Great idea!" Marella exclaimed. "I'm free tonight."
"Me too," Sophie added in.
"Me three!" Keefe exclaimed, pretending to be girly as he batted his eyelashes and twirled his hair.
"In your dreams," Marella told Keefe.
"Get lost!" Biana said, shooing Keefe away.
"Fiiiiiiiiine!" Keefe groaned. "But Foster, don't count me out. I have lots of distractions planned for you and I."
Sophie groaned. "Can't wait," she said, sarcastically.
The bell then rang to signal that first period would start in three minutes. "We'll catch ya later!" Biana said as her and Marella walked off to their next class.
Sophie frowned when she realized that she wouldn't be walking to her first period class with Dex like she usually did.
Sophie turned to start walking to Chemistry and slammed into Keefe. "Keefe! You're still here?" Sophie shrieked, startled since she thought that he had left.
