Laurelle was a quiet girl;

she kept herself to herself and enjoyed the company of a good book and a cup of earl grey tea more than the company of other teenagers. She spent her days painting or sketching in her notebook that she kept with her at all times, for if someone was to see into that book they'd see all of Laurelle's thoughts and dreams.

She confided in the notebooks to keep her deepest, darkest secrets.

Laurelle had friends. Well, that was before she discovered good music. Her old friends weren't very supportive of Laurelle's fashion taste or music choices they'd rather listen to One Direction than listen to The Smiths and whereas Laurelle shopped in vintage stores and American Apparel her old friends went straight to Hollister and Abercrombie. Laurelle tried being like them, she tried wearing lots of short skirts and make up but it didn't feel right and instead Laurelle stuck to plain clothes and oversized jumpers and jackets.

Other kids weekends were spent at parties and sleepovers; Laurelle's? Well, Laurelle usually scrolled through tumblr for the night while listening to her records.

Laurelle was in her usual spot, the bench under the oak tree in the park. She went there every Saturday morning to chill out. Then she'd go to the coffee shop and order her usual chai creme frapp, then she'd go to her shift at the small vintage shop she worked at.

It was the same thing every weekend but Laurelle liked the routine she had going on.

Cameron was also in his usual spot, running around the park before his football training. He went there every Saturday morning for his training. His coaches told him he'd make it far in this league and if you work hard - you played hard and that's exactly what Cameron did, so he trained on Saturdays for 3 hours, he trained on Monday's doing weights in the gym, Tuesday's he swam, Wednesday's and Thursdays he had a day off, then he did running on Friday's with a match on Sunday.

And it paid off, the girls in the school practically drooled over Cameron's good looks.

Laurelle was just about to leave the park when she spotted him, his mop of brown hair bouncing as he ran. The muscles on his calves and arms straining, skin sparkling from sweat that collected on his brow and soon he'd came to a full halt - right in front of Laurelle.

Laurelle knew him from school, he was in the year above but she didn't know his name she just knew that he was popular and hot.

Cameron saw her every Saturday, sometimes he didn't recognize her because her hair changed to a different shade almost every month (It was currently Lilac, which it had been for the past 2 weeks) Cameron admired her confidence, he could never do something like that with his hair - not that he wanted to have lilac hair, the most he'd go to would be some blonde highlights but he couldn't even have them because his best friend Nash had them. Cameron loved the way she dressed, unlike any girls in his school who stuck to crop tops and shorts she wore baggy jumpers and jeans with Doc Martens - even in summer.

Cameron remembered the first time he saw the girl, she had bleached blonde hair and she was wearing a grey pink floyd vest and she also had on black skinny jeans and burgundy Doc Martens.

He remembered the week after that where he spent the whole week daydreaming about the girl in the park, the way her hair blew in the wind as she sat sketching in her notebook, the way she tapped her foot subconsciously against the ground.

She was always on his mind.

Cameron sat down in the bench right next to Laurelle who continued sketching away pretending like she was oblivious to the fact that the hot boy she'd ogled over for months was sat right next to her looking effortlessly gorgeous.

"That's a really beautiful drawing"

Laurelle's heart almost lept out her chest. Had she heard right? Was he talking to her?

No, surely not.

Boys like him don't talk to girls like Laurelle. Laurelle must have dreamt it so she continued sketching.

"You're really good you know" This time she was sure he was talking to her because he leaned forward in the chair and sat over to get a clearer view of the scene Laurelle was sketching.

"Um, thanks, it's just a quick sketch" Laurelle said shyly trying not to make eye contact with the boy because she knew that if she did she was sure to have some sort of heart attack. Cameron smiled to himself he'd always meant to talk to the girl Cameron thought she always seemed lonely.

"I wish i could draw. But I'm more sporty than artistic" He said with a small smile. Laurelle nodded and smiled to the boy.

"I see you training in the mornings" Laurelle said, mentally face palming herself

"Well done Laurelle now he thinks you're a stalker" was the thought currently going through the pale girls mind.

"I see you here as well, with your notebook" He said fiddling with the hem of his vest.

"It doesn't seem to run out of paper?" Laurelle giggled at the boy finally maintaining eye contact which sent butterflies off in her stomach, his eyes were a deep shade of brown with some light brown as well and she felt like she could see straight into his soul through his eyes. And even through his cheeky smile there was something in his eyes that Laurelle couldn't decipher.

"This is my second notebook this month" Laurelle said shutting the book and placing it in her lap, she held her hand forward

"Laurelle Montgomery".

Cameron shook her hand confidently.
"Cameron Dallas, nice to meet you Laurelle. You've got a really pretty name, it really suits you" Laurelle couldn't contain her blush and she wondered how she looked to Cameron 'Probably like a tomato' her subconscious told her but she pushed the thought out of her mind.

"Hey, Laurelle? Do you maybe want to like get something to eat later or like a coffee or something?" Cameron said fiddling with his fingers nervously.

Laurelle nearly passed out - had he really just asked her out?

She nodded, "Yeah that'd be nice, I have work in 15 minutes but I get out at 2pm. I can give you my number and text you the address of the shop? There's a really cool coffee shop next door". Cameron couldn't contain his smile, he grabbed his phone out his pocket and unlocked it handing it to Laurelle as she did the same with her iPhone.

"Cameron! Hurry up Bro!"

"I've got to go. But I'll see you later? I'll pick you up at 2?" Cameron said standing out the seat.

Laurelle stood up "Yeah I'll text you. See you later Cameron" She said turning on her heel, inside Laurelle felt like doing a flip, she just landed herself a date with a hottie and she didn't even say something really embarrassing.

"See you, beautiful" Cameron shouted before jogging over to his team. Laurelle felt proud, for once in her life she didn't change herself to be liked, she was accepted by Cameron for who she was and that meant a lot to Laurelle.
