Since I am not satisfied enough with the fanfics and fanarts of these two, as good as they are, I decided to make my own! I'm a beginner at this so please be a little patient with me. I find this to be a pretty underrated ship so, here we go!

STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE
Mario trapped an almost unconscious Bryan inside spikes of rocks to protect him from a bunch of high-level enemies that were targeting him. He fought all of them alone and almost died. Once the spikes came down, a crying worried Bryan came rushing to him, instantly hugging him on the floor.
Bryan: Don't scare me like that! I was worried something could've happened to you!
Mario: Sorry... They were after you and I just wanted to protect you...
Bryan: If you're going to protect me, let ME protect YOU too! What if something bad happens to you?! I-I wouldn't know what to do...
Bryan's grip around Mario tightened and Mario could hear him sobbing. To comfort him, Mario hugged him back and kissed him on the forehead.
Mario: I love you, I don't ever plan on leaving you.
Bryan: You better not! ... I love you too...
