I'd hold you tight for dear life
If you caressed my cheek like old times
I'd lean in and pur like a cat that just found home

And promised to never leave again
I would not question it
For goodness sake I'd drop everything
And act like you've never hurt me before
But I'm afraid I'd wake up too early to dream of the forever you promised
And if this ever existed outside my unconsciousness
I'd know I'm drunk on suffocating memories of a beautiful unicorn like yourself
Sometimes I wish we never met
It occurs only for a split second during midday
I'm almost guilty I think it
