[Chapter 2: Gun Against My Head]

A calming whistle of a flute, a distance melody he never hears before.

He found himself walking in the back alley, the one he never comes before.

Yeong stopped, looking up, "What will you do if you have more chance?" a little boy sat on the dirty box, stacks of unused plastic behind him and Yeong walked to him in instinct.

The older man furrowed his brow in concern when he walked closer, frowning deeper when he touched the boy and found him to be so cold, "where's your jacket, boy?" he asked.

The little boy blinked at him, a yo-yo in his hand, "I don't bring any," he said with a low voice, gaze downcast.

The memories about Eun-bi and Kka-bi, his younger twins and Eun Seob's younger twins flashed before his mind.

Yeong sighed, taking off his cashmere coat without thinking twice and draping it on him, "where's your house? I will take you home."

Maybe because he spent time with the twins, he became better with children and became protective to them.

The little boy with the old-fashioned haircut looked up to him, a thin smile on his little face and Jo Yeong felt a weird tug inside his chest.

The royal guard's captain took out a clean handkerchief from his back pocket, kneeling before the boy and wipe the dirt from the boy's face gently, "you can't be in here too long, and this place is dangerous for a young kid like you."

A thin smile, "You are a good person, Captain," the little boy said, taking Yeong's hand and entwined it with him.

The older man widened his eyes a little, not because of fear but the odd calming sensation when the little boy's hand grabbed his hand.

As if the little boy was the calming riverbank, the breeze caressed his stoic face and the wave of ginkgo leaf took away his breath in the best way possible.

"What are you talking about?" he squinted his eyes, voice sceptical but never even once he pulled away from the little boy's touch.

Yeong found himself to be a little breathless with the unknown sensation as if he was tip-toeing into something he shouldn't.

The boy opened his mouth and talked softly, "I can give you a chance," Yeong stared at the small grin, a hint of playfulness. Too mature for a little boy before him.

"A chance?" Yeong raised an eyebrow, the boy nodded and got down from the box with one swift jump.

Yeong let the unknown boy guided him, hand never leaving each other as the little boy took him to a tour.

The scene from the dim street light and the back alley slowly crumbled into a blank landscape, the first thing reaching Yeong was a sound of the tide.

When the black-haired man glanced up, a view of long beach greeted him. The sand under his shoe, and the thick scent of the ocean.

He couldn't find anything, just a long sand path and weird random things floated in the empty air.

"You can do anything, time and dimension," the boy pointed out, this wasn't the first time he came to this place, Yeong though he once or twice came here.

The same in-between dimension he saw when he travelled the dimension with his King.
