A/N: Updates are Mondays and Fridays.
I had been in the library for three hours studying till Andrew made an appearance, totally distracting me.
"What do you want this time around? I told you I wasn't interested in going to a party with you."My eyes left my books and met his gaze.
"Let's talk. It's been long since we talked." He took the empty chair beside me.
"We did enough talking last night." I returned my attention back to my book. "This is a library where you read and not talk in case you haven't noticed."
"You're a kill joy Victoria." He took out books from his bag, ready to read.
Finally!
Seconds after he started tapping his foot on the tiled floor making me turn to him. "Can you quit the tapping? I'm trying to read here."
"Sorry." He apologized, making a guilty face.
Fake.
Ten minutes after he started tapping his fingers on the wooden table, making a distracting noise.
I turned my chair fully to face him and I could see the corner of his lips twitching to a small smile. I tapped his shoulder.
He looked at me, feigning ignorance as to why I tapped him, his fingers where still tapping the table.
"Can you quit the tapping please I'm trying to read." I whisper yelled.
He looked at his fingers. "Oh sorry."
He turned his attention back to his book and I rolled my eyes at him.
Ten minutes after and he started humming loudly.
"Drew." I called his name loudly making him and other people around me turn to face me.
Nice.
I smiled at them in apology and they all turned their attentions back to their books. All except Andrew.
I glared at him and he smiled. "How may I help you?"
"You can help me by remaining silent for the next one hour and if you can't you can just leave or change your seat.
"You should know the reasons for my actions. Let's talk."
"Talk about what? Why do you keep disturbing me?" I rose my voice.
The librarian came up to our seat and gave us the look that said 'keep your noise down'
I smiled apologetically at her and she retreated back to her seat.
I gave Andrew a death glare and he just continued smiling at me. "Let's go out, have a drink like we used to."
"You've lost that liberty a long time ago."
"Let me win it back, please." he pleaded with me.
A part of me wanted this. I wanted to have a drink with him and gist with him for hours non stop like we used to but things have changed now and it's going to stay that way.
"No." I said and his face dropped.
"The drinks are on me. Please Victoria just this one time. If you come with me I'd stop bugging you, just one drink." He tried to negotiate.
He looked serious about the deal and I know he meant it but would he be able to stick to it. It's always easy to say but hard to do.
Before I could give in to his request the librarian came up to our seats and showed us the way out of the library.
She shoved us, well she tried to shove Andrew but he was like a wall and all her efforts were in vain.
I glared at Andrew, "Fine, just one drink."
One drink turned to two and then three. I was still on my first drink and Drew was on his third.
He was already a bit drunk but still sober enough to drive. Me on the other hand just watched him drink and talk rubbish about his friends. Most of the things he said where funny and that made me laugh on occasions.
It was already late and I had to leave but Drew obviously wasn't ready to let me go.
My phone rang and I picked the call, excusing myself from the bar.
"Riya where are you? Your car is parked in front of the library but you're not here." Adrian sounded worried.
Drew had insisted that we took his car, promising that he'd drop me back to get my car after.
"I'm at Bobs. Can you come pick me here?"
"What are you doing at Bobs that you left your car here?" He was getting angry.
"Can you just stop asking questions and come pick me up, I'll explain later." I hung up when he grumbled a reply.
I went back into the bar to tell Drew that I was leaving but he was no where to be found so I just walked back out to wait for Adrian.
Five minutes after his car pulled up in front of me and I got in.
"What where you doing with Andrew in there?" He asked immediately I got onto the car.
"We were just having a drink and talking, nothing else." I was getting irritated.
His shoulder dropped as he let out a breath, "I'm just worried about you Riya. I don't want what happe-"
I shut him up by raising my hands. "That's enough."
He didn't say anything after that and neither did I.
I was so sick and tired of him telling me the same thing over and over again whenever he saw me with Andrew. I get that he is only trying to look out for me but he always goes overboard.
When we got back to the almost empty library parking lot I got down from his car. "I'll meet you later, I'll just pick Funke and we'll be on our way."
I nodded at him and got into my car.
Drew called me before I drove out of the parking lot but I just ignored his call. I wasn't ready to talk to him especially while driving.
When I got to my house I called him back.
"Sorry I couldn't answer you then, I was driving" I apologized immediately he picked the call.
"I guessed as much. Adrian picked you right?" It didn't sound like he was at the bar anymore.
"Yes, how did you know?" I asked shocked that he knew.
"I saw him when he came."
"Oh that explains." I nodded as I stretched my legs out on the couch, "I had a nice time today, thanks for the drink."
"That's nice to hear. I'll call you later," he hung up before I could reply.
Funke and Adrian finally came and we got to reading.
