"marjorie, i have a boyfriend." allie giggled as she told the elderly woman what was happening in her love life. it had been the first thing that the widowed woman asked when she saw the blonde girl who was scrubbing the carpets after her cat had peed on it.

"i thought that was the reason." the elderly woman smiled to herself. when allie had entered her home, marjorie noticed the spring in her step and the glow on her face. it was the look of love and it was something that marjorie knew all too well.

marjorie's husband, stewart, had been her high school sweetheart and whenever the woman thought of her other half, she had had the same spring in her step and glow on her face as allie.

"is it that harry fella that you were telling me about a few months back?" marjorie asked with a hopeful tone to her voice. the older woman had heard all about harry and what he was like. the way that allie spoke to the elderly woman about the boy who was now her boyfriend, marjorie knew that they were meant to be together. it was destiny or fate or whatever else you wanted to call it.

"yeah, he's really great." allie smiled to herself as she continued to scrub at the carpet and seeing that the pee stain was finally lifting.

the two women continued to talk about harry winks and how great and sweet he was. marjorie listened intently to the stories that allie had to tell. she smiled at the thought of the boy leaving her cleaner flowers. the story about the socks made her laugh a little and the story about their first date almost made marjorie melt into the floor. marjorie became desperate to meet harry. the older woman knew that most guys these days were only about having sex. they didn't want to commit to something and they most certainly didn't like to be romantic but harry was clearly different.

"i think that's me done." allie stood up, dusting her knees off and smiled at marjorie.

"one more thing, lovey. could you please change my lightbulb? michael was supposed to do it but he's been caught up at work." marjorie sighed. michael was her son that she hardly got to see. he had a family of his own now and he was a lovely man but his job required travelling a lot and he rarely got to see his mother.

"of course." allie, still in a good mood because of how well her love life was going, stepped up onto the chair in the tiled kitchen with the light bulb in her hand. as she forced herself up, the chair skidded across the tiles and allie ended up landing on her ankle. the sound of a 'crack' echoed throughout the room and the blonde girl screeched in pain.

"oh, allie! i'm so sorry." marjorie panicked at the sight of the kind girl being in so much pain. if she knew that this would have happened, she never would have asked allie for the favour.

marjorie ran, more like speed walked, through to her living room where she picked up the land-line phone and dialled the three numbers that would send an ambulance through to pick up allie.

"allie, what's going on?" harry's voice echoed down the line. he had just finished his training session and he had loads of missed calls from his girlfriend. he was worried about her.

"the doctors have just told me that i broke my ankle. are you finished training? can you come pick me up?" allie's voice was groggy from all the pain medication that she was on and the long day that she had had.

"fuck, how did you do that?" harry started, wondering how his clutz of a girlfriend had managed to hurt herself so badly.

"actually, you can tell me when i get there. i'm on my way now." the couple bid their farewells for the moment since harry was only a short drive away from the hospital that allie had been taken in to.

harry quickly gathered all of his things before rushing out of the training centre. all of the boys watched him with amusement, not really understanding why he was in such a hurry to get away from all of them.

after a short drive and asking the receptionist for directions to where his girlfriend was, he found her in a and e with a boot on and crutches.

"i can't believe you, allie." harry laughed as he approached his girlfriend and helped her to stand up before giving her a soft kiss.

"let's get you home so that you can rest." the footballer handed his girlfriend her crutches and walked slowly beside her to the car. he was being very cautious and wanted to make sure that she didn't fall and hurt herself more.

"you know, you're my favourite person in the whole world, haz." allie smiled at her boyfriend as she sat in the passenger seat of the car. harry was currently driving them both back to his place since he wanted to keep an eye on her for the night. he would drop her off with monique the following day.

"and you're my favourite person in the world, darling." he gave her a smile in return but he noticed that she had already passed out. she looked exhausted from the busy day that she had had but harry had to remind himself that she was also very drugged up.

"sleep well, my love." he whispered to himself as he continued to drive through the bustling streets of london. it had always been the place that he had called home and he hoped that one day, he could call it their home.

a/n: okay but how cute is allie? 🥺

i have had so many different ideas for books recently and i think it's beginning to become a bit overwhelming because i still have other books to finish but i want to start other ones and then more ideas come to me and i'm a bit of a mess at the moment if you can't tell. does this happen to anyone else?

i'm beginning to tease my new book on instagram by the way. it's a lot less obvious this time so dm me if you think you've worked it out.
