aidan gallagher
aidan had just turned 18 a days ago. his birthday present was something he had look forward to ever since he was 16 when his father had taught him how to drive. ever since then he had working on getting a license and of course a brand new car.
he was waiting on the side of the road, his fingers tapping on the steering wheel as music blasts loudly. soon the door on the passenger's seat opens. his best friend coming to sit down.
"how was your shift?" aidan asked to you. you shrugged. it was almost 8 PM and you were thankful that he's here.
"nothing much happen today but there were some costumers that made my day." you said, started rambling about your day.
aidan started the car and drove off. he promises you the very first ride on his new car and your health melted at the idea of being someone important to him. it was something small but that seemed to awaken the butterflies in your stomach.
he was all about the little things. aidan is passionate, attentive, patient and very caring to the point that he makes life as easy as breathing or counting one to three. he was so easy that even falling in love with him was like a listening to a new song until you realize you were listening to it for the whole month on repeat.
he was so easy to fall in love with.
somehow along the ride, a song came up and suddenly you were dancing on your seat. mouthing the words even if you weren't sure about the lyrics. you looked beside you, dramatically singing the song, your hand reaches for aidan but quickly pulling it back to ball it into a fist as if you were holding a mic.
aidan spares you a glance, a grin creeping on his lips trying to hide it as he looks straight on the road.
"c'mon aidan, you know this!" you said singing loudly once again. you heard him sigh before singing on the top of his lungs for the world to hear.
their voices merged together into an unbalance harmony but who cares? no matter how loud or how annoying it may be, at least they were enjoying themselves. the song ends almost immediately.
you were panting your breath from all that dancing and shouting. you looked away.
aidan on the other hand looked at you. seeing how the moonlight shines on your face. he thinks your beautiful, he thinks that even the moon had blessed you with its light. he thinks that he really likes seeing you with the moon.
he really likes you.
his eyes turn back to the road while you observe him back.
that's the thing. he looks at you whenever you look away. the subtle glances shout that there was something more than just friendship.
"there's a lot of stars tonight." you said, looking up at the night sky as you reached a turn. the moon was now hidden behind dark clouds. "you love stars, right?" you added.
"i do." he said, you can hear him exhale lightly. "but i like the ones in your eyes better." he looked at you, his dimple showing on the side of his cheek while you blush furiously.
"shut up."
"it's true!" aidan laughed, seeing you so flustered makes him feel things.
silence followed them, but it wasn't awkward. it was two people enjoying each other's presence. listening to cars moving beside them, stoping at a red light or turning into a two-way street. the air was cold, making them want to curl into one another and pull them closer.
it was silent but their minds were racing. contemplating on what to do or what to say.
"y/n." aidan called out, you turned your head over to him as your eyebrows raised. "we're here." he says.
you didn't even notice, to caught up in your thoughts. you looked around and noticed that it was your house. you nodded.
"thanks for the ride." you said. opening the door but aidan's hand caught yours.
"um- i.. i really like you."
"me too." you replied.
"no, not in a friendship way, but i like like you."
"i know." you smiled at him, he was taken a back a bit. "we should go on more drives soon. take me out sometime." you winked before taking your hand and closing the door.
aidan sighed.
