Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

The sound of the heartrate monitor echoed in the room she sat in. It grew monotonous and boring as the day droned on. It was the next day, Tuesday, except Jirou hadn't noticed a day had even passed. She suddenly sat up when people entered the curtain that shielded her from the world. A nurse entered with two people she didn't recognize.

"Hello sweetie, how are you doing?" The nurse in blue clothing asked gently.

"Uh, I don't know," Jirou replied.

"Do you remember my name?" She asked with a clipboard in her hands.

"Um," Jirou squinted with a tilt of her head. "No," she shook her head, glancing to the people on her right. One was a man with long blond hair, another was a woman with hair a similar shade of purple to her own.

"Okay then, recite after me and look at how many fingers I hold up," the nurse started slowly as Jirou nodded with uncertainty. The brunette nurse held up 3 fingers, stating her name was Reiko. She then asked Jirou to remember a certain phrase, which she eventually got down after a few minutes.

The nurse jot down some notes before stepping aside to let the strangers come to her bed.

"Kyoka, honey, we're here," the indigo-haired woman leaned on her bed as Jirou reeled back, not wanting to let them touch her.

"Who are you people-" she asked with fear entering her body.

To the nurse's surprise, the man started to break down first, kneeling onto the floor with his head on the bed. His wife cupped her mouth, gently sliding a hand on his back to comfort him as tears trickled down her cheeks as well. Jirou had absolutely no clue why these people were here or why they were crying on her bed. Her panic became visible when the heartrate monitor began to jump higher.

The nurse wore a worried expression as the beeping became more frantic, asking for the couple to sit to the side until the patient calmed down.

He wouldn't stop crying.

She wouldn't stop crying.

They stayed crying.

Crying for so long, for a reason she didn't understand why.

Wednesday, the second day after the incident. A nurse came into the room.

"Hello sweetie, do you remember my name?" The nurse stepped into the room with a clipboard and a little portable cart that could be pushed around.

Jirou eyed the stranger suspiciously as she drew closer.

"Do you remember what we practiced yesterday?" She came to the side of the bed, waiting for a response.

". . .No," Jirou replied nervously as the nurse came to hold up 3 fingers by her face, repeating the same process from yesterday. She hadn't remembered the phrase either. After a few attempts the nurse left to the cart in the back, bringing her a tray of food. Jirou stared at it curiously, like she didn't know what any of these things were.

For the past two days, she had forgotten how to eat. The hospital had provided a tube for her, to which Jirou never liked as it felt uncomfortable. She stared blankly as the nurse observed her, realizing she didn't seem interested or knew what to do what was given to her.

The brunette nurse gave a saddened sigh, writing more onto her clipboard before replacing the food tray and leaving the curtains. Jirou sat in the room alone staring at the wall. She felt like she'd been here for about 12 hours, when in reality, it had been 2 days.

"Hey sweetie," a voice said as she snapped her head to the shuffling of the blue curtain around her bed. "Do you remember me?"

Jirou shook her head, flinching when the lady opened the curtain for several people to enter.

Thursday. It was after school hours. Her friends had come to visit.

"Hey Kyo, how are you?" A girl who was pink in skin tone asked. Three girls she didn't recognize surrounded her bed, making her feel anxious and claustrophobic.

"Who's Kyo? Who are you?" She asked with her eyes darting between all of them, the monitor took another jump as all three of them stepped back.

"Momo, Tsuyu and Mina, remember?" Yaoyorozu gestured toward herself, then her two friends. Why did she look like she might cry?

"I-I don't know you," Jirou shook her head vigorously, backing up to sit straight.

"Kyoka," the girl in a black ponytail suddenly held tears within her eyes. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have made you upset that day," she apologized profusely, Jirou had no clue why however. "I would take all the teasing back, I know it has nothing to do with what happened but-" she choked on her words, her speech buried in painful sobs as a shorter girl with green hair hugged her.

Jirou couldn't do anything except feel sorry for them. She was certain she didn't know them, but they somehow knew her.
