Kenma's POV:

8pm..

9pm..

9:30pm...

10pm..

I spent the last two hours staring at my clock, waiting until my mom had gone to sleep.

I would have entertained myself as I waited but I couldn't seem to concentrate on anything, not even my favourite game.

When 10:30 finally hit, I grabbed some white converses and existed from the back door to make sure I didn't set the alarm off.

I made sure to grab some headphones on the way out so I could listen to music on the way down to our meeting spot.

We usually met next to this corner shop no one really went to. It was connected to a long ally way which led to a large wooden fence. There was a gap we had discovered whist playing volleyball when we were younger that we could easily fit through. Behind the fence was an abandoned playground, and that was our special little place.

When I had arrived I saw Kuroo already there, sitting on a swing, slightly swinging from kicking dirt on the floor. The light from the near by street lamp was only just bright enough to see.

Just for the sake of teasing, I grabbed a few pebbles from the ground and started, lightly, throwing them at Kuroo to get his attention.

"Well that's one way to say hi." He sarcastically comments.

"I like to be original," I smiled a little, "So how long have you been waiting?"

"About 20 minuets, took you long enough."

"At least I showed up." I punched him on his shoulder, not hard, but not exactly playful either.

I took a seat on the free swing, we sat in a comfortable silence for a while.

My memory flashed back to when I was texting Akaashi, he said he was looking at me during practice.. But he also said one other thing that I didn't even question.

'Kuroo was asking about you today.'

"Hey Kuro?" I broke the silence. "Akaashi said you were asking about me today."

"Oh yeah, just about volleyball. Don't worry about it." He smiled, although I had a feeling that he didn't mean it. It's not like I can just start accusing him of something he may or may not of done so I didn't ask anything more, dropping back into the comfortable silence we were in before.

I watched our feet, Kuro's easily touched the ground as mine only just hovered the ground. Being so small at 16 years old was pretty annoying.

I smiled to myself a little, at nothing in particular, just enjoying the company of my best friend.

"What you thinking about Kitten?"

I gave him a slightly confused look.

"You were smiling, it's cute." He chucked a little as my face started heating up. "So what were you thinking about?"
"Nothing really." I answered. It's not like I was telling a lie, I wasn't smiling as anything in particular. Just at ease.

"Wanna play a game?"

"Uh.. sure?" I answered in a more questioning tone.

"Hmm, two truth and a lie?" He suggested whist smiling up at me, it was obvious he wanted to play.

"Eh sure why mot."

"Alright, I'll go..."

~

We played 'two truths and a lie' for about an hour until I was clearly getting tired.

"Kenma we should head home, we have school tomorrow and it.." He looked down at his phone, "Fuck, it's past 12am." He laughed nervously.

"Alright, goodnight Ku-" He cut me off.

"Nuh uh, no way you're walking alone at this time!"

"Kuro i'll be fine." I stood up to leaveyet I was stopped by Kuroo who had grabbed my wrist.

"Are you kidding? Someone as cute as you wondering around past midnight? I'm not letting you. No way." For the 100th time tonight my face heated up.

"Fine." Kuroo let go of my wrist.

"Come on then." And with that we started making our way home.

~

"Thanks for walking me home dork."

"Anything for my Kitten." He laughed quietly, not wanting to wake up my mom since we were standing outside my back door.

Anything for My kitten.

I repeated in my head.
