"We'll be back in two days at most," Aang assured the rest of the group. "If Zuko cannot figure out what is wrong with his fire bending, he won't be able to teach me fire bending."
While Katara took Aang aside, probably to give him a detailed warning about being alone with Zuko, the fire nation prince walked over to Shira. He nervously scratched the back of his neck which was something that surprised Shira. For the longest time Zuko was never nervous around her but now, she guessed it was because he was still treading lightly on getting close to them and back closer to her."I.... erm.... I'll miss you...." He stuttered.
Shira smiled up at him and reaching up, cupped Zuko's face in her hand and leaning up so she was closer to his height, she pressed her forehead against his gently.
"Just promise me that you guys will come back safe," she whispered.
Zuko let out a shaky breath before lifting his head a little and planting a kiss on Shira's forehead. "I promise."
"SHIRA!" Toph called. "RISE AND SHINE! It is almost lunch time!"
Shira groaned as she rolled over away from the earth bender, pulling her sleeping bag over her head. Toph walked over to Shira and peeled the blankets off of her."You sleep in more every night!" Toph complained. "I have to deal with Katara and Sokka all morning by myself!"
"Sorry Toph," Shira yawned. "I cannot really help it."
Toph sighed. "Well at least promise me that you will spend today with me!"
Shira chuckled, "Actually, I was planning on drawing up a few names today for the baby.""OOOH!!!" Sokka cried, having eavesdropped (Probably purposely) on the conversation and making the two girls jump.
About fifteen minutes later, the overly excited Sokka had drawn out four sheets of paper, handing one to Toph, Katara, Shira and keeping one himself before handing everyone a pencil.
"Everyone put down two suggestions for boy and girl names, circling the ones you like best." The boy instructed.
Katara leant over to whisper in Shira's ear, "is it just me, or does Sokka seem more excited about this than anyone?"
Shira chuckled but the girls quickly composed themselves when Sokka looked their way suspiciously. The kids bowed their heads over the paper and a few minutes later they handed the papers over to Shira."Okay. Toph's suggestions for girl names.... Z...S....Uh... Toph, how do you pronounce this?"
"Zhira," Toph said, reading it aloud. "It is pronounced Zira."
"Okay," Shira continued. "Zhira... or Shuko.....""Shuko?" Katara asked. "Sounds like Shoe and Zuko."
"Nope," Toph replied. "Shira and Zuko."
Shira smiled but Sokka scratched his head in confusion. "Wouldn't that be their ship names then?"Toph threw her arms up, "Just read the boy suggestions."
"Zuko Junior or Shuju," Shira read.Silence followed so Toph just rolled her eyes and taking the paper from Shira, she crumbled it into a thousand pieces, "You just pronounced and read them wrong. I knew I shouldn't have asked Sokka to write them down for me."
Shira chuckled as she took Katara's paper, "Yakira or Mari for girl and Katsu or Shane for boys.... I actually like Yakira and Katsu.... I don't know."
Sokka then held out his list to the girl which he had folded into a neat square. Shira took it cautiously before reading aloud the names: "For boys: Zuzu..... or Mapo...."
"Uh Sokka," Toph asked. "Why did you put down Zuko's despised nickname? You do realize he hates that name!"
"And where did Mapo come from?" Katara added."It is a mixture of Appa and Momo!"
Silence followed the boy's announcement before Shira looked back at the paper."Girl names: Momi...."
"Another Momo idea?" Toph whined. "It also sounds like Mommy!"
"Izumi...." Shira whispered.
