"Ew!" Sophie exclaimed as she looked at the outfit she picked out for her date with Nick.

Well...she didn't really know if it was a date or not...

Sophie sighed as she went through her options.

Should she dress fancy? Casual? Cute?

Sophie wasn't very good when it came to this kind of stuff. It was more of Biana's specialty.

As Sophie looked through her closet, she realized that she had no good outfits.

What would she wear?

Sophie! Snap out of it! Since when do you care how you look and what you wear?

Since boys... a voice in the back of her mind whispered. Shut up! She told the voice.

Sophie then decided to just go with a thick and silky, red sweater with a silky white scarf. She then picked out a pair of black jeans and then slid on white ankle boots.

With her hair, she just pinned back a front piece of her hair with a pin. She wanted to be herself, but also look a bit presentable so she put a dab of clear lip gloss on.

Satisfied, but also feeling nervous, she grabbed her phone and walked downstairs. She then heard a car honk and Sophie noticed that it was Nick's car outside, waiting for her.

"Bye dad!" She called as she started to open the door.

"Not so fast!" Grady called, coming out from the kitchen. "Just where do you think you are going?" He demanded, waving his infamous bat in the air.

"Dad! Put that thing down! I'm just going to hang out with a friend," Sophie said, hoping her face wasn't red.

"A friend huh? A friend you dress up and wear lip gloss for?" Grady asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Uhm yeah," Sophie stuttered nervously.

"Who is this boy?" Grady asked, crossing his arms.

"Who said it's a boy?" She asked, trying really hard to be casual.

"Are you saying it's not?" Grady questioned, still holding up his bat as he looked around.

"Um—"

Suddenly there was a loud honk coming from Nick's car, cutting Sophie off.

Grady gasped. "That's him!" Grady then started to stomp towards the door.

"What no! That's no one! You can go now!" Sophie yelped, blocking Grady's path to the door.

Grady huffed. "Well, fine! Have fun," he said, glaring at her while cracking his knuckles. Sophie giggled nervously as she started to open the door again.

When she was about to pull it open, she turned around to see that Grady was still waiting there with his bat.

"Um, dad," said slowly. "What are you still doing here?"

"Just waiting here until you leave with your friend." Grady said, narrowing his eyes.

Shoot. He wasn't leaving until he saw who she was going with, which meant he was going to see Nick—

Ugh! Why was he so stubborn and annoying?!

Sophie felt her face flame in embarrassment as she quickly tried to think of a plan to get rid of Grady.
