"You really need to work on your stance."
I looked up at Najwa with a glare and stood up brushing myself off any dirt, I must give it to her she's good at defending herself when it comes to a fist fight. Najwa chuckled upon my reaction, and I took that as a distraction, swinging my legs out in front of me and making her crash down, losing her balance she fell flat on her face.
"Fuck." She grumbled under her breath, turning around she lay on her back, I moved closer and smirked down at her, we both looked at each other and burst out laughing. "You're good."
"What can I say? I'm a natural." She scoffed at my words and lifted her hand waiting for me to pull her up. I grabbed onto her arm and pulled her up then my gaze shifted to the empty room.
"Everyone must have left."
I took out my phone only now realising the time, we've been here for two hours and there was a bunch of missed calls from both Armani and Ajay, I decided to call Armani and on the first ring she picked up.
"Where the hell are you?!" She hissed through the phone.
"I kind of got carried away with training,"
"Get back home in 10 minutes."
"Why- "
"We're going out! They've given us a day of and majority of us are celebrating." A huge smile found its way onto my face upon hearing Armani's words, having fun here is very limited but when these occasions do happen, I make sure to take full advantage of it because who knows when we'll have fun again.
"I'll be there." I said and hung up, I turned to Najwa. "You should come,"
"I-I don't know..." Najwa said with a frown on her face, it's as if she's never been to these events before, now that I think about it, I've never really seen her at one.
"Oh, come on, it'll be fun," I grinned.
"I'll think about it."
"Alright, well I'm heading out, see you." I said and gave her a little wave before making my way out the base and towards home.

I squinted my eyes as the blinding light hit my face, stepping out the pod I watched as the vehicle hovered and retrieved back to its destination. The sight of the lights decorating the whole place made a huge grin appear on my face, even in the obsidian dark there is the light of stars which twinkle above us radiating it's aroma. It is always the light we crave, for without it what is our world? We seek the light and it's beauty, perhaps its a promise that even when we yearn for the light of the sun there will be stars to bring hope of dawn.
I was cut short from my thoughts as a loud shriek from the other side of the wall caught everyone's attention, it echoed through the night sky reaching our ears and piercing straight to our hearts causing the blood to drain from our face, the sound was hoarse and loud as though it was screaming for food, it sounded starved, hungry, thirsty. And then later followed by many more, loud scratches could be heard as they desperately tried to scratch their way through the thick barrier which blocked our views of them.
I felt a hand clutch onto mine and looked up at Ajay who's face was as pale as paper, his lips were in a thin line as if he was trying so hard to not give away the fact that he's scared but the slight tremble of his lips gave it away, I didn't bother removing his hand due to the current situation but I turned my head and looked at Armani who was on the brink of tears, I gave her a comforting smile assuring her that we'd be okay.
