"there's no way i can go back there, li." i groaned, pouring a shot of bacardi.
"i get it. nathan is a total asshole for cheating on you like that." she said, moving around from behind the bar to go deliver a round of shots to a table.
"yeah, and now i'm basically homeless." i laughed when she returned.
"you can stay with mitch and i. you're always welcomed at our apartment." she told me as i went to give a mojito to a customer.
"as much as i would love that, your apartment is 500 square feet. there's no way that it would work out." i laughed. "i appreciate the offer though." i smiled, walking around the side of the bar.
"the offer will always be on the table." she said, making me smile at her kindness. mitch owns the club that we work at, and is dating lilah.
"can you take table 8?" baylen asked me, coming behind the bar.
"yeah, i got you."
work nights like these are my favorites. baylen and lilah are two of my best friends. we all work at the same club, so when the three of us get a shift together, it no longer feels like the (slightly degrading) job that it is. we're bartenders at a club in new york city. we basically have to wear slutty clothes to work to get tips. i didn't mind it though... it paid the bills.
i adjusted the baby pink bodysuit, that was two sizes too small, walking towards table 8. one wrong move and i'd flash the whole club.
"hi guys, how can i help you?" i smiled to them, being as nice as possible, in hopes of getting a good tip.
"we'll have a round of whatever your favorite shot is." the black haired boy smirked at me.
"of course, i'll be right back with that." i smiled. as i was going to turn away, i felt a cold hand grasp my wrist. i turned towards the black haired guy as he removed his grip.
"what's your name, darling?" he asked me as my eyes shot to the tattoos on his arms.
"gray," i smiled. my name is actually ashton, but we have 'fake names' for when old men, or any men, try to hit on us. it's for our safety, as mitch puts it. i think it's fun to have a different name. it completely changes my personality.
grays personality is so different from ashtons personality. gray is confident and outgoing, whereas ashton is sheltered and innocent. it's satisfying to have an alter ego, if that's what you want to call it. you can fulfill any lifestyle you could ever desire.
"ryker." he introduced himself, offering me a hand. he didn't seem to be any harm to me. he seemed like your typically twenty something year old guy. to add to it, he was undoubtably one of the hottest guys in the club.
"it's nice to meet you." i said, grinning. "i'll be right back with your drinks." i announced to the whole table, walking back towards the bar.
my feet were aching like no other. i was on hour 7 of my 8 hour shift. the heels i had to wear did not help the time go by at all. not to mention that my bodysuit was digging into my entire body. after this table, i was free to go home. i was really hoping that they wouldn't stay long.
"ashton, did you figure out a living situation yet?" baylen asked me once we had a second to breath... though it was hard with the tight ass bodysuit i was wearing.
"not exactly... i'm staying with grayson until i find a place. most of my stuff is at nathan's anyways." i explained. grayson is our other friend. the four of us girls are practically inseparable. grayson works as a personal assistant for a company that i have no knowledge on.
