This is a character from the Legend of Fuyao, played by Jiang Long. His character suits what I expected for XiaoYue's friend. Loyal but playful. (Legend of Fuyao is recommended for everyone to watch.)
XiaoYue was busy checking the fields when she heard a shout.
"Older sister XiaoYue! Older sister XiaoYue! The choosing is soon!" cried Xiaowu, XiaoYue's childhood friend.
"What did you say?!?!? The choosing is coming!?!? I hope Older Brother Gu Jian will come! I really miss him?!? How do you know about this Xiaowu?" XiaoYue questioned.
The two friends chatted on and on about how they hoped that they would be chosen and how excited they would be if XiaoYue's brother came. Xiaowu comforting XiaoYue on her "bad luck" of being a girl. This was due to the fact that only boys have been chosen so far to become a dragon rider or phoenix tamer. After they went their separate ways, XiaoYue bumped into her mother.
"XiaoYue! Where have you been! You have to get ready! Come on!"
There was a tradition in Qu Xiao Yue's hometown that after the choosing, the girls would go to meet the dragon riders. Every girl hoped that they would be chosen as one of their wives. Almost every girl. XiaoYue thought it was disgusting. All those frail girls, with over-elaborate clothes and heavy makeup. It made XiaoYue feel like throwing up. There was no escaping now, as her mother dragged her back to the house.
