THE SUDDEN CHANGE of plans during her night under the influence with Elijah and Schlatt of all people really shouldn't have surprised her, but Vera can't help but groan each time she thinks about her plane ticket to America.

Another month of turmoil had rolled around, bringing in the bloom of flowers, the daily fluctuating weather reports and an atmosphere that would've spelt joy for anyone other than her.

Vera had yet to financially recover from her epic spending adventure (it turned out she'd also bought a ticket for Wilbur too) and no matter how many times she pestered the company to try and cancel her flight, or at least get a refund, they simply would not give in. She supposed, for someone that wasn't her, going to America would be fantastic with plans, she didn't exactly have any plans ━ unless she counted attending Mr Beast's bloody birthday party. Then, yes, she had a plan.

The formal invitation had come through only a week later, written with a strangely formal dress code and looking as though it was a reject for the royal wedding.

This party brought on another problem. Jonathan Schlatt, to be precise. She wouldn't have minded if it were just a small gathering of people of anyone other than Schlatt, hell, even Jake Paul would be better. But according to Ted, who was running the planning committee, almost everyone he knew invited. So, of course, Schlatt would be there. The very idea of bumping into Schlatt made her nauseous. There would be no electronic barrier between them, and nowhere to hide when she felt the urge to punch him in the face.
