Namjoon looked sympathetically at Yoongi as the male cried. He wanted to hug him, to tell him that he's there, but he didn't feel like Yoongi would take that in a mannered way. At first he wanted to wait until he calmed down, but Namjoon knew that that'll result in an awkward situation for both of them.
"It's alright, Yoongi." Namjoon spoke politely. "I apologize for saying that out loud. I should've known, or at least assumed."
The customer had his head down as he sniffed and sobbed every now and again. Namjoon had felt awful. Not upset, but horribly guilty. After a small bit of time, they were still in the same position as before, when Yoongi exclaimed,
"Stop trying to be s-smart."
A couple people glanced their way so Namjoon awkwardly reached over the table and began to rub Yoongi's hand in hopes to help him relax. It worked a bit, but not enough to fully calm him down.
"What do you mean?" Namjoon asked him, keeping his hand on top of Yoongi's. He hoped that he could at least get Yoongi to look up at him.
"You're n-not smart. T-This is all a d-dream, right?"
"No, this is real life, or else I wouldn't be feeling as much sympathy as I do now since, you know, it would be your dream."
Sadly but predicted, Yoongi hadn't looked up again. Namjoon glanced at the clock. 20:11.
"Well, my shift is over now..." Namjoon smiled and sighed. He let go of Yoongi's hand before continuing. "Do you know how long you'll be here? We close at 22:00."
By now Yoongi had calmed down. That made Namjoon smile for a little longer.
"I can leave now if you want..." Yoongi muttered, still not wanting to look up.
"If you don't have to leave. I'm not dragging you anywhere." Namjoon spoke in. "Your life, your decisions." He ended with a full dimple smile.
Yoongi nodded and finally looked up. His cheeks and nose were a light pink as he sniffed, scrunching up his nose.
"So do you want to stay for a while longer?" Namjoon asked. "It's alright if you want to, just don't stay for too late."
"You're starting to sound like my mom or something." The comment made Namjoon laugh, which finally made Yoongi show a small smile.
"Yeah, I think I'll just go..." Yoongi replied, finally with a full answer.
He was about to stand up when Namjoon grabbed a hold of his wrist. Yoongi looked down at his wrist then at the taller with a confused look. Namjoon was confused himself, until he gained an idea.
"Are you sure you don't want coffee?" Namjoon asked. Yoongi looked at him with even more confusion. "Just because my shift is over doesn't mean I'm immediately kicked out from making coffee. Besides, the others are used to it."
