"NAME ONE HERO WHO WAS HAPPY."
Kiran Howell didn't want to be a hero. She had been fourteen when Batman made his debut to the world, and her and her brother had followed along with the gruesome dark knight's story. As she grows, so does the list of heroes that she follows along with, her obsession with reading every article turning into the thirst to investigate every incident that may have anything to do with any hero.
Her eyes are glued to the tragedy that comes with each heroic event. She thinks about how lonely it must be to face such heartbreaking decisions, to have the balance of people's lives in the palms of your hand. Kiran would never in a million years wish to have that kind of pressure resting on her shoulders, like some kind of modern day Atlas. She's already fucked up enough and can barely take care of herself as is.
However, fate or the stars or whatever had decided differently. Kiran may not have wanted to be a hero, but she did want to make a difference in the world. Being an avid supporter of doing the right thing and an investigative journalist for the Daily Planet and desk mates with Clark Kent, it's easy to want to take Lex Luthor's God complex down a notch. When opportunities arise, Kiran's never one to turn them down, even if they could be detrimental to her health.
And, that's how she finds herself being blown up by a spaceship in a Lex Corp. warehouse.
"Forget stardust-you are iron. Your blood is nothing but ferrous liquid. When you bleed, you reek of rust. It is iron that fills your heart and sits in your veins. And what is iron, really, unless it is forged?
You are iron.
And you are strong."
