Looking at the Coke float and nachos in front of me I was in heaven, stuffing my face and laughing at Toby. The night has been great, I forgot how much I enjoyed my time with Toby.

"Tell me you didn't swap out the sugar for salt again with Caleb's coffee did you?" I laughed eating a big cheesy bite of tortilla with a huge jalapeno on it.

"You bet I did, and I will do it when he least expects it again." Toby laughs out taking a swig of his Bud.

"I miss him and dad, and of course the rest of you guys." Looking over at Tobias, I have missed my family and my extended family of the guys that work with my them.

"You know they miss you too Meg." Tobias doesn't usually use my real name unless he's being serious. "You know your dad and brother both want you to join the team now, maybe not in the field more like in the home base, your dad and bro prob have a heart attack if you were in the field. Even tho you are just as good as the rest of the men, you were trained by us all. And I trained you the best."

"You the best now? I should tell Cale this" I joked.

"You better not, but I'm being serious they miss you too."

Looking at him and seeing the truth in his eyes, I shake my head.

"I'd love to come back home with you and join the family but I'm not strong enough for that work, I can't see or be a part of the work you all do."

"Don't say that, you may be innocent in life but not in our way of life."

"Ha innocent in life?" I laugh but stop when I notice the seriousness in his eyes. Leaning over he brushes my hair back behind my ears, making me get a weird tingling on my chest.

"Yes innocent in life, I hope you come into this world in your own time and that you keep your innocence. But either way I'll always be here for you, remember that!"

"Always, I will always remember that Toby, you're my brother in the heart!"

"Brother.. Yea your best brother ever" he says with a sad smile but ends with a wink and sparking eyes.

"Lets get outta here, best get ya home. I got training at 5am and you have school tomorrow."

Walking me to my dorm building door he nudged my shoulder and gave me his side hug.

"Sleep well Nutmeg and enjoy your classes."

"You too Toby, enjoy torturing the trainees, thanks for a great night!"

"Anytime Nutmeg!" he said as I went in the doors to the lifts.

Walking into the dorm all the lights are off and I decide to just crash, getting into some shorts and a night tee, I slide into bed and crash.

The next week sped by with classes and studying, I was getting comfortable and getting closer to Gaia, she is turning out to be a good friend and with her, the rest of the trainee gang. Whenever we all meet up at mine and Gaia's place or at the coffee shop, I find Vincent watching me when he thinks I wasn't noticing, little does he know is between my dad, brother and Toby I learnt to be aware of my surroundings in any instances. He hasn't talked to me or approached me, which is a shame as from watching him myself, I'm intrigued by him and would think we could be friends. He kinda reminds me of Toby,

when on runs I sometimes go past him, always going in the opposite direction, always with a nod or a salute but nothing more, but this alone has the other female runners, and I say that in a loose term 'runners' more like prancers getting their hackles up, as he ignores their flirty waves and skimpy tight outfits. If glares could kill I would be dead by now.
