The rest of the weekend seemed to fly past quite quickly as weekends do and the newly minted couple used most of it either messaging each other or facetiming. It was as if their date had never ended as their conversation picked up from where they had left off, even mentioning Del once in a while. Sometimes, the two men would not speak at all and just be busy with their own work, occasionally looking back at their phone screen to check up on their other person.
Del was soon returned to Ohm, appearing cheerful as ever, claiming that she had tons of fun with Uncle Kao and Uncle Earth. Ohm thanked his two friends once again and though Kao was more than happy to receive the gratitude, Earth mentioned that his child minding services can be paid with information on Ohm's date.
Kao and Ohm simultaneously rolled their eyes and snickered, choosing to ignore Earth's demands.
Coincidentally, Fluke was also the same. Teemild had called him the morning after, brimming with curiosity on how the date had gone but Fluke did not give anything away. He simply stated that they had dinner and went to the aquarium afterwards, disappointing Teemild slightly as he was hoping to hear juicier details.
Fluke obviously knew what his friend wanted but he did not want to share it as the memory was now very precious to him. Fluke did, however, mention that they would be going on another date soon, which excited Teemild greatly.
As the new week rolled in, Fluke directed his focus back into his students while Ohm dove back into his paperwork, but always having each other at the back of their minds.What used to be DMs in the evenings and early mornings are now text messages exchanged throughout the entire day.
On days that they would meet at school would consist of Ohm staring lovingly towards Fluke and Fluke trying his best not to blush when he steals glances at Ohm when he is supposed to be welcoming a child in or sending them off. Sometimes, on days that they don't meet, Del would recite a message to Fluke, saying that her Daddy told her to relay it to her teacher. Those days, Ohm would get a loud voice message from Fluke, scolding him for using his child to talk to Fluke. Ohm, would of course ignore his words as he knew that from his tone, Fluke was not really angry with his actions but just embarrassed.
That, in turn, led to more sleepless nights talking on the phone, more dates on the weekend and more messages conveyed through Del. This went on for a couple of months when, out of the blue, as Ohm was driving Fluke home and he posed a question,
" I know we've been seeing each other for a while now but how would you feel if I brought Del along during our dates?"
Ohm knew that Fluke cared for Del but as she was not his own, Ohm was still worried over his reaction. He, however, quickly realized that he had nothing to worry about when he saw how bright Fluke's eyes were shining as he looked at Ohm. Fluke nodded vigorously and it was as if he was bobbing in his seat with excitement and that brought a soft smile to Ohm's face.
It was set then, the next time the couple went out together, Del would join them. Now, Fluke was obviously ecstatic to have the little princess follow them along but he was becoming extremely worried as to how Del would feel seeing him with her father. Cue the best friend hotline...
"What is it now?"
"Hey! Don't talk like I only come to you for problems..."
"Well, is this a social call or do you actually need my help with something?"
" i need your help with something.."
"I knew it! Well, spit it out. Is it Ohm? Did he propose? Are you guys getting married already?!"
"GOD NO! Why would you even think that it's too soon!"
Teemild cackles over the phone.
"Then, what is it?"
