Lorenzo's POV

"Magnus, open up!" Lorenzo yelled, banging on the door. "Fine. I'll just have to open it myself." He snapped his fingers and the door swung open. "Magnus we need to..."

He trailed off as he looked around the apartment. One of the windows was shattered, broken pieces of glass all over the floor. The couch was tipped over, the living room rug had a red stain on it. Chairs were broken, the dining table had a leg broken off. In the kitchen, a pot sat on the stove. There were vegetables stuck to the ceiling, and the floor was soaked in chicken broth.

"Magnus?" Lorenzo called out. What had happened here? Had he had a temper tantrum or something?

Lorenzo knew about the death of Alec Lightwood, and to be honest, he didn't really care. That was one less problem to worry about. He knew Magnus was heartbroken. That shadowhunter had meant everything to him. But Lorenzo didn't mind. He had never liked either of them anyway. But as High Warlock of Brooklyn, he had to care about Magnus. Or at least act like he did in front of other warlocks. Which meant he should probably find out where Magnus was. He sighed, walking out of the apartment. He snapped his fingers and the door slammed shut. Where could that problematic disgrace be?

Jace's POV

"You just left him, Izzy!" Jace's fist remained clenched by his sides, his face full of anger.

"Jace, we didn't have a choice."

"You keep saying that! But what are you going to say when my parabatai rune disappears again? What are you going to say when he's gone once again, all because we didn't save him?"

Isabelle took a deep breath before continuing. "He's not going to die, Jace. Magnus would never let that happen."

"Magnus? Magnus is under a fucking spell, Isabelle! Magnus doesn't know what he's doing. Magnus wants him dead."

"No, we're going to figure something out. We have too."

"Well, you're the Head of the Institute, what's your plan?" Jace asked rudely. He couldn't even find a word to describe what he was feeling right now. He was furious, but also scared, worried, and somewhere deep down inside of him, hopeless.

"Jace, you need to calm down," Clary said, walking up behind them.

"I can't calm down, Clary," Jace growled through clenched teeth. "How do you expect me to calm down in this situation?"

"Freaking out isn't going to help anyone."

Jace thought about it. He sighed. "Your right." He mumbled under his breath. Throwing a fit wasn't going to save Alec. He had to do something. Anything.

"I'm going demon hunting."

Maia's POV

"And where were you?" Luke asked as she entered the Jade Wolf.

"With Clary."

"Why?"

"I was just helping her with something."

Luke waited. "Are you planning on telling me what?" He said after a few minutes of awkward silence.

"Nope." She said, walking into the back room. The chefs were cooking away, and as usual, they paid no attention to her.

She was kind of confused. She was pretty sure Alec had died. She was there. And now he was back. It's never good to bring the dead back. She had asked Clary, but she didn't seem to know how it had happened.

People just don't stay dead, do they? Simon died, then he was brought back as a vampire. Jace had died, but then he was revived by the angel. Valentine died, then Clary brought him back with a rune, then he was killed again the same day. Jonathan died, but Lillith brought him back with a creepy demon ritual. And now Alec has come back from the dead as well. It was like an ongoing theme. She stuck her headphones in her ears and sure enough, the first song that came on was 'Bring me Back to Life' by HT Bristol. She rolled her eyes. It was a good song though.
