As you all know this story is a historical fiction. Fiction meaning----> about what I am writing is written nowhere. But I always avoid historical inaccuracy.
The Truth:
1. Uttara was given to Arjun by her father- as he won the Virata battle against the kauravas and also saved the herd of cows for him.
2. As Uttara was his student he proposed Abhimanyu and Uttara's marriage.
3. Krishna, Satyabhama, Rukmini and many kings were invited to the wedding - in pretext of making alliances for the war.
Liberties I shall take
*I will skip the Virat battle. Think that it had already happened. The Pandavs have come out of the exile.
*I will not show Virat offering Uttara to Arjun first.Facts-
I assume that Yudhistir was the first one to reproduce a child with Drauapdi and Nakul was the second one. A grandchild of Kunti and Madri each. Arjun's son is the smallest for obvious reasons. I read this somewhere. All in all the uppandavs are not much talked about- so the things always remain a bit dubious.* Abhimanyu- 15 right now.
*Uttara- not saying much about her. Some say that she was older than Abhimanyu. But I take her to be 15 as well.Start-
Abhimanyu and Uttara- The sight of first love
'Marriage?' Prativindhy enquired with interest. Pragati was reading a scroll, a message from Virat their parents have addressed. Finally, it was all over. 'We are called early.' Pragati exclaimed with joy. Prativindhya shook his head. 'Whose marriage?' Sutsom tried to comprehend the situation. None of it really mattered until he got some mouth-watering delicacies.' Bharata Abhimanyu's wedding.' Pragati finally announced as the other siblings sat in a state of utter surprise or better say shock. Sutsom thought about the last time teasing Abhimanyu of a proposal, smiling, that jokes are not always taken lightly indeed.
------------------
'Brace up boy!!' Krishna announced. Abhimanyu was extremely fed up with all the family members hovering on him like a honey bee. What was so special in getting married at 15. Plus he could not show his valor to his wife-to-be just like his Pitashree had shown once. ' Mama-Shree, I see no joy.' Abhimanyu clasped his head in annoyance. Krishna looked at him in surprise, but a better knower shall certainly interpret it as a precocious development to something naughty. 'You don't want to get married, right?' Krishna sat beside him. He looked so sad that for a moment Abhimanyu regretted his opinion. 'Then don't get married.' Krishna shook his head in an aged fashion. 'No!' Abhimanyu jolted. And then he instantly regretted this. He was doomed, his Mama-shree is going to make a headline of this reaction. 'I mean, I can't deny my elders. If not you, who shall command me?' Abhimanyu folded his hands in a hurry, not wanting to meet any more gazes and talks of his playful uncle Krishna. Krishna looked at the retreating figure of Abhimanyu - a brave boy, a sweet son and a wonderful-husband-to-be.---------------------
'This doesn't help.' Suthanu looked at her Mother. They have been selecting, rather-fussing over tonnes of jewelry for Uttara. 'Suthanu, they are all so beautiful. What is up in your mind?' Subhadra was getting annoyed. For the past 1 hour, Suthanu had rejected over 100 pieces of Jewelry. She says that nothing which doesn't look exceptional at first glance could suit her sister-in-law. Subhadra had journeyed alone with a lot of gifts and handmaid, much in advance of her son and brother. She waited for their arrival, but mostly the job at the hand needed to be done. Uttara was virtuoso at embroidery and singing, as her hands rushed over her to-be daughter-in-law's handmaid velvets and cotton designs. She hummed at Suthanu- it needed to be perfect.
------------------'Abhimanyu is taking just too long, right Mama-Shree?' Shaitainika munched on an apple. Krishna shook his head 'Off-course. The prince wanted some alone-time.'
'Let him have it. Until peace prevails.' Bheem laughed. 'He won't regret this decision.' Arjun smiled at his son's awkwardness. After all, what did they expect of 15-year-olds? 'I can't believe our kids are getting married.' Nakul exclaimed dreamily.
'Kid.Pitashree.' Shaitainika added. 'We won't go into premature- what must I say- captivity!' Shaitainika laughed at his mild joke hysterically, pulling in his fathers as well. Krishna looked at him affectionately, a ghost dancing in the back of his eyes. People talk of the future sometimes and then they don't realize it- how often had it happened? 'Indeed.' Krishna felt his throat lacking air as he too joined for a lung-filling laugh.
----------------------
Abhimanyu strolled across a small pond, which was fenced with lilies and dandelions and roses. The Virat Kingdom had been extremely careful of this possession of theirs and only the royal family was allowed to take a walk- even though it was located far away from the palace. 'Shit!' Abhimanyu heard a girl talking. There was a mixture of defeat and annoyance in her tone. He tried hearing it again and there was a ruffle of grass, accompanied by the same exclamation. Though it really didn't seem that the girl was in any problem- it felt right for him to intervene in her privacy.Uttara pirouetted and scrunched her toe in god-knows-what directions, but was not able to bow in the end. Dance. Yes, she was practicing a good number of moves as her body swayed in different directions. Her irritation was a signature to a stop, as she again tried practicing- spinning voraciously on her toes.
Abhimanyu was caught in the act. The act of not trying to move his eyes away from the heaving figure of this girl who definitely looked a royalty. Her lips no more looked normal and her anklets did sing a song. Abhimanyu immediately sucked in air. He was going to get married- and most probably he couldn't do such things. He - with great difficulty- tried moving back to his horse and rush away with this wild feeling in his heart- to go and kiss her.-SHIT!- he exclaimed with the same annoyance.
'Who's there?' her voice dripped of honey- he could taste it. Uttara was no damsel in distress and was also no one to get scared. Abhimanyu stood firm at his place, enjoying the fieriness that dripped from the voice of this delicate girl. ' Nobody- who you should concern.' Abhimanyu reverted. 'That answer- can end you up in trouble prince.' She looked at his ornaments. Kuru. Oh my god! was he.. was he? Was he ABHIMANYU?
Uttara's face turned scarlet of the realization. But a better thought crossed her mind. Her swaymvar was an already canceled entity, so what could be better than a few moments of courtship. She giggled to herself.
Abhimanyu experienced an extreme level of jouissance looking at this girl who had barely introduced herself. Her shyness made him wonder- about what secret she knew. Her resignation made him question her-' Why were you dancing here. A palace shall be a better place to dance.'
Uttara looked at the godly features this man possessed. His voice made her eerily happy as if it touched her heart. This feeling of being unknown - was giving her butterflies. 'My palace is crowded for a matter of time.' Uttara could not help but look here-there, Abhimanyu's eyes were intoxicating her. 'Why, is their somebody's wedding.' Abhimanyu enquired further as Uttara could not help but suppress a laugh. ' My teacher had taught me to dance- but I didn't practice much thinking that I had enough time- so I came here. A lot of business surrounds the palace- and for that matter- nobody would like seeing me dance like this.' Uttara confessed her feelings. She felt extremely bounded and annoyed that she was expected to behave like adults when she was still unripe at age.
Abhimanyu tried absorbing the information Uttara had provided with so many details. He looked at her for a minute, and then it struck him- 'It's your wedding right?' He exclaimed solving the riddle. He looked at her with joy, as she too held her gaze close to his heart. Abhimanyu's facade fell as quickly as it had come over- 'Indeed Rajkumar Abhimanyu' Uttara smiled at him. Abhimanyu felt his heart pounding hard under his ribs. Was she hearing? Uttara shook her head. ' Rajkumari Uttara- What if I say I love dancing as well.' Abhimanyu asked her coyly. 'Then I shall be the happiest wife on the face of this earth.' Uttara looked at him with ecstasy. She said it- Abhimanyu smiled. Abhimanyu held Uttara's hand for a moment- caressing it. Her skin was softer than he had imagined.
'I guess we should leave.' Uttara's lips quivered in joy. Words were difficult to form.
'After you, princess.' Abhimanyu announced as he bowed his head in front of the damsel who had caught him of his soul.
------------------------------------
'Lovely here, isn't it?' Krishna asked a love-struck Abhimanyu.
'Indeed' Abhimanyu sang in oblivion, as the sky was no more blue.
