Chapter 17: Scabbers

                                    

                                          
"Incendi-" (Y/n) started to shouted when a cat jumped onto his back knocking him over. 
                          
Crookshanks then ran up to the trunk of the tree and pressed a knot, making the branches freeze. 
                          
Hermione looked at him horrified. "God, I think you might be an arsonist (Y/n)!" Hermione told him. 
                          
"What I though fire would be appropriate. For once I thought I'd be useful" (Y/n) said defensively. 
                          
Hermione made her away towards a small whole in the bottom of the tree. Harry walked up to (Y/n) and pat him on the back. 
                          
"Don't worry mate I thought it was a good idea." 
                          
"Thanks Harry. Oh by the way here's your wand" (Y/n) handed Harry's wand back to him. 
                          
Harry stared at it for a second then check his pocket. "(Y/n)! When'd you? How'd you?" 
                          
"Don't worry about it" (Y/n) said with a wink and walked towards Hermione.
                          
"So who wants to go first? Harry?" 
                          
Harry walked up to the hole in the tree and jumped into it. 
                          
"Well I'll see you on the other side Hermione" (Y/n) said as he jumped into the hole. 
                          
It lead a slide like tunnel, which then leveled out into a secret passage. (Y/n) flew out the bottom and landed on his stomach. 
                          
He got up and brushed the dirt off of him, only to have Hermione come down the slide and knock him to the ground. 
                          
"Hey Hermione you know if you wanted to be on top you just had to ask" (Y/n) said. 
                          
Hermione's face went bright red. "Prat" She said getting up and helping (Y/n) to his feet. 
                          
"Come on you know you want to Hermione" 
                          
She hit him in the arm and followed Harry. "Where do ya suppose this goes then?" (Y/n) asked after catching up to the other two.
                          
"Dunno" Harry said "I've seen it on the map, but it leads off the page" 
                          
They continued on until the passage turned into a house. 
                          
"We're in the shrieking shack!" Hermione told them. They searched around a bit before finding Ron sitting on a bed. 
                          
"Ron are you alright?" 
                          
"Look out Harry he's the dog!" Ron said pointing to something behind the door. The three of them turned around and Black slammed the door shut holding Ron's wand. 
                          
Harry and Hermione pulled their wands out, but Black was ready for them. "Expelliarmus" He said calmly, and Harry and Hermione's wands flew from there hands. 
                          
"You came for your friend. Good. I thought you would, just like your father would've done for me-" 
                          
Harry cut him off "but you wouldn't do for him! You killed them!" 
                          
"You'll have to go through ya first!" Ron said sitting up, and trying to stand. (Y/n) ran over to him and put his arm around his neck to support him. 
                          
"Don't" was all Black said pointing Ron's wand at him. 
                          
"It'll take more 'en that to scare me" (Y/n) said as he continued to help Ron ignoring Black's order. 
                          
"What're you gonna do Black kill me?" (Y/n) said to him defiantly helping Ron to his feet and supporting his weight.
                          
He heard Hermione let out a moan of horror. "There will only be one murder tonight" 
                          
"Stop being so cryptic and just tell us already!" (Y/n) shouted at him. 
                          
(Y/n) heard a slight creak for the other side of the room. 
                          
"You killed my parents" Harry said darkly. 
                          
Black let out a hollow, dog like laugh. "What are you going to do Harry? Kill me?" 
                          
Harry jumped at Black pinning him to the ground, but before he could do anything he was thrown off. 
                          
They all looked to the door, and Lupin standing there with his wand raised. 
                          
"Have you done it? Where is he?" Lupin asked Black. Black raised a finger and pointed to Ron. (Y/n) push Ron back onto the bed, stood in front of him and spread his arms wide to clock the bed. 
                          
"No! You've been helping him the whole time? I kept your secret!" Hermione shouted at Lupin. She then turned to the others. 
                          
"He's a werewolf, that's why he's been missing classes" Hermione explained pointing at Lupin. 
                          
"You are the brightest witch of your age Hermione" Lupin said "But you don't know the whole story-"
                          
"I don't need to know it! He killed my parents!" Harry shouted pointing at Black. 
                          
"Harry listen there are things you don't know, things I didn't know until recently" Lupin said trying to calm him down. 
                          
"Sirius didn't kill your parents, it was Pettigrew" 
                          
"Pettigrew's dead! He killed him!" Harry said pointing violently at Black. 
                          
"Expelliarmus!" Another voice come from the doorway, Snape stood there with his wand drawn. 
                          
"Ah how I hoped to be the one to catch you. I told Dumbledore he shouldn't trust you. I knew you were helping your old school mate sneak into the school." 
                          
"Expelliarmus!" Three voice shouted simultaneously. Harry, Ron and Hermione were holding their respective wands up pointing towards Snape. 
                          
"How'd you all use the same spell?" 
                          
"Just the first spell that came to mind" Harry replied. 
                          
"Good thing I didn't have a wand then, or else we'd all be in a flaming house." (Y/n) said jokingly, forgetting the severity of the moment. 
                          
"Now explain" Harry said to Lupin and Snape. 
The two of them went on to explain that it was Pettigrew who had sold Harry's parents to Voldemort. 
                          
"And he's here in this room!" Black shouted pointing once more to Ron. 
                          
"God why didn't you tell us Ron? You could've saved us so much time" (Y/n) said sarcastically. 
                          
"What he's mental, I don't know what he's talking about!" Ron yelled frantically. 
                          
"Not you boy your rat! Now give him here!" 
                          
"What no not Scabbers! He's been in my family for-" 
                          
"12 years oddly long life span for a common garden rat, he's missing a toe isn't he?" Black said. 
                          
"All they could find of Pettigrew was his finger" (Y/n) said. 
                          
"He's mental!" Ron said holding Scabbers closer to him. 
                          
"It's okay Ron, if we're wrong the spell won't hurt him" Lupin said softly to him. 
                          
Ron reluctantly gave up Scabbers and Lupin held him by the tail pulled out his wand and tapped the rat. They're was a blue light. 
                          
Lupin let go of Scabbers and there was another blue light, and suddenly there was a strange rat like man in the same spot where Scabbers had just been.
