Chris walked through the halls, her head held high, glaring at anyone who dared looking at her the wrong way.
She strutted to her locker, putting her backpack in there. And of course, the freak herself (Which, Chris didn't really think of Carrie as that, she just.. forced herself to.) walked behind her.
She snickered at the outcast behind her. Someone had shoved her to the ground, a moment later a sob followed after it.
She's so pathetic.
Chris rolled her eyes, then directed her gaze forward. But she couldn't help but glance back at Carrie worriedly until Sue helped her and took her to the nurse.
Chris fought back tears. Of course Billy has hit her again, but this time she snapped at him for it.. and he broke up with her.
Yes, he was a terrible boyfriend. But she still loved him.. sort of..
And, she finally worked up the courage to go to the nurses office, a stinging sensation still burned her face.
She walked in with her arms crossed, her eyes then landed on a small girl talking to the nurse.
It was Carrie White.
Chris was beyond embarrassed. Carrie, of all people, was seeing her cry. She thought of something to say, to snap at her, but a gentle voice interrupted her from her thoughts,
"Are you okay..?"
She looked at her for a moment. Her gaze softened, but only for a moment. "Pfft, yeah. I'm not a wimp like you."
A few stray tears slipped out of Carrie's eyes and she quickly looked back at the nurse who looked sympathetically at her. No one ever did anything to stop the bullying. No one ever did. Not even the teachers.
Chris scoffed, then walked over to the two. "Where's an ice pack?"
The nurse gestured towards a fridge, and she walked over to it, taking out an ice pack and holding it onto her cheek, hissing at the jolt of pain and cold that hit her suddenly.
Carrie, again, worriedly looked over at her, her eyes were glassy, and the taller girl couldn't help but feel the smallest sympathy.
The office phone rang, and since nobody was in the office, the nurse walked away from them to answer the phone. "What happened to you?" Chris suddenly asked, after a moment of tension filled silence.
"You where there.." Carrie whispered.
"Answer me." Chris suddenly snaps.
"I — someone shoved me and I twisted my arm.." She murmurs. "I'm fine though. I'm not a-a wimp."
Chris rolled her eyes. "Whatever, freak."
Carrie looked down at the ground. "My name's Carrie." She muttered.
Chris rolled her eyes again. "Whatever." She huffed out, then started to walk out of the nurses office.
"I hope you cheek stops hurting." Carrie lightly says, just as Chris was almost out of the room. Chris have her one last glance, she then nods. And exits the room, leaving Carrie alone with her thoughts.
Chris spent the rest of the day ignoring everyone. She was so embarrassed, sad, hurt, annoyed, and upset at the world. And all she wanted to do was go home and cry. No one would judge her, no one -
