Being her uncle because of her father, Regulus, he often took care of her when she was little. "Ced, I don't think he's all that bad, he took care of me with Remus and James Potter. I remember him being sweet and calling me Lil' moony".
Cedric frowned and took both of her hands reassuringly. He said, "promise me you won't go looking for him, you know I wouldn't be the same without you B, think of Remus and your friends".
She looked up at him and gingerly kissed his cheek. "I'll try not to", she said. He laughed and pulled me against his chest where sleep invaded our thoughts easily.
Now, to clear up, Ced and herself have been friends since the first year, up until recently, but her feelings toward him have changed. The Black girl felt at home with him, his every touch sent shocks up her arms. Little did she know that Cedric felt the same way since they had met that day on Diagon Alley. He remembers her dark silky hair and her icy blue eyes that he has grown to love and the vanilla scent she always carried around. This will be the year Cedric would pop the question finally, he was done being scared, and he was definitely done with other boys gawking at her beauty. She was indeed the most beautiful thing Cedric had ever put his eyes upon.
As the train ride continued, there was a sudden halt, sending Cedric and herself to the floor. She frowned and stood up, examining the situation. Cedric opened the compartment door and peered. Something was inside the train. Suddenly the lights flashed and there was a cold which lingered with all the bad memories someone could possibly have.
As the air seems to become thin, Cedric closed the door and stood in front of her, in a protective manner. "Ced, what is it?" She had dared to ask. Cedric as if finding the right words said, "Dementors- they are searching the train for Sirius Black".
She stiffened and caught up to know that they were either looking for her or Harry. "Ced, I need to get to Harry, the dementors will surely get to him". Cedric, in refusal, shook his head and said, "Tris you can't, they're looking for you too".
A bony hand that belonged to a dark cloaked figure levitating in the air grasped the compartment handle that Cedric and herself stood. As it opened the door, it started inching its way towards her. Cedric pushed her behind him and took out his wand. Tris knew exactly what to do. Remus had taught her before to produce her corporeal patronum. She held Cedric's hand as the warmth seemed to disappear completely.
She took out her wand and though of her happiest memories, with that she cast "Expecto Patronum!".
The figure, afraid of the sudden light, left in a blink of an eye. Cedric gaped at her and said "When did you learn how to do that? Bloody hell you are a heck of a girl, Black".
She gave him a lopsided grin and said "Thank Remus, he has a particular liking to teaching me advanced spells... of course, I mostly steal his books and read them".
Ced kissed her forehead and mumbled something into her hair. Remus searched every compartment to look for his goddaughter who now was surely the daughter he had always wanted. He was extremely protective of her, and he had an inkling about dark times coming, so he had taught her well.
As he found Cedric and Tris is a rather intimate hug, he knocked on the door and said,"Mr. Diggory, if you excuse me, I need to have a word with Ms. Black" of course, glaring at the boy who seemed way too smitten with his goddaughter. As Cedric stepped out, he wasted no time in hugging Beatrice.
"Are you okay, please tell me those dementors weren't looking for you. I-I had to help Harry, he's okay." He sounded frantic and scared.
"Yes, Moony, they came inside my compartment. And before you asked I did use my patronum to make them go away. Don't worry, I'm okay. I will speak to Harry once we arrive at the castle". She said. Remus smiled and patted her back, chucked a piece of chocolate that she knew all too well, and stepped out.
As she settled on the seat, she took out her trunk and her robes. She knew Ced was doing the same, so she looked for the washroom. She saw Draco and his side of goons talking about how Potter had fainted. She despised the hate they gave Harry. She did not condone the makings of his cousin. However, she knew Draco was forced into thinking that he was better because of his blood purity. His family did recognize her as a pureblood, so they often invited her over for the summer in the manor. Remus, of course, had taught her better, so she does not believe that there is a hierarchy. Muggle, pureblood, or half-blooded, the merit of each wizard was the same. She changed into her robes and headed back to the compartment, took out a book, and sighed. She knew this year would be eventful; however, she had an inkling that truths would be revealed and relationships would be reevaluated.
"Oi, pass the meat pies, Ickle-Tris!", said Fred Weasley, motioning for the delights.
"Wait a minute you tosspot, Harry is getting his pie first", she retorted
She laughed at the nickname. It was the same with the twins every day. Fred is her best friend. Although the twins were a package deal, she had more comfort with Fred. He was always the one beside her. A beautiful sibling bond developed through love of pranks, food and sentimental talks. She wouldn't know what to do if she did not have the certain red-head in her life. It would probably be a bore.
She eyed Cedric from the corner of her eye, smiling back at him. Catching her eye, the bronze-haired boy blushed and gently waved at her.
Beatrice had gone to bed with a smile on her face. She was at home after all.
