Cross with you pt. 9
Midorima x Reader

Midorima left you to change; he went to the deck where he found the breakfast table filled with something delicious to eat—he remember telling the chef that you are a little picky when it comes to desserts.

"Is your body okay?" Midorima asks when you opened your eyes later that evening—the whole day, you and Midorima made love and cuddled, you didn't even have to go out of the bedroom to see the view outside the boat; inside, with Midorima is more...satisfying? Perfect?

"Mm." you answered.

Midorima is currently lying on your lap and you are playing with his hair—when you were in high school, you usually hangout like this...

It's like everything is perfect when the two of you are together... but everything is not okay, right?

"On the next weekend, let's go visit the Tokyo National Museum; we used to go there right?" Midorima said and you could only look down at him and smile as he remember that you liked that place—you had your first date there with him.

"Sure."

That evening, Midorima talked to you about Emi and all that happened that evening. You listened to him; you tried your best to understand that everything was just a misunderstanding.

"Okay." You answered, "At least you explained."

"Did you really understand my point, (name)?" Midorima made you look at him.

"Yes." You smiled.

Actually, back during high school it was always Midorima who wins an argument, if he did something wrong, you accept, if you did something wrong you apologize, he gets mad, you apologize and he reprimands you and you understand; you don't really fight back—you accept everything as long as Midorima says so—and you get to be with him.

"Um...now that I have heard your side, I think it's about time that we head back to Tokyo?" You suggested.

"You want to?"

"Yes. I have work tomorrow. And don't you need to go back to the hospital too?"

That evening, he drove back to Tokyo and dropped you off in front of your house.

"I'll pick you up tomorrow, like the usual." He said.

"No." you replied, "I mean, not tomorrow."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah." You smiled.

"Good night." Midorima reached for a kiss that you returned sweetly.

"Bye." And you climbed down his car and watched as Midorima drive away.

"It was a surprise." Midorima's mother placed the cup of tea that she was drinking, "People may not know you, but when I heard your name we knew it was you."

"Yes." Midorima nodded, "I apologize."

"I thought you are dating (name)-san?" Shiori butted in "I mean we saw you a couple of times and we were already suspecting the relationship that you have, but we didn't say anything."

"Does Yuki know?"

"Both of us suspected." Shiori explained, "But how did it turn out after she heard news?"

"You should properly talk to her parents after this." Midorima's mother said, "She was good to us, helping Shiori get used to her new school in Tokyo. If you hurt her, Shiori will lose a friend too."

"It goes without saying..." Midorima stood up and bowed to his mother.

"You have to talk to her parents about this first." His mother reminded.

"Yes. I will, once this is over." Midorima left his parents' house.

"Mom, if Nii-san is going out with (Name)-san—and they have dated back in high school too, what happened to them when Nii-san was abroad?"

"He was never one to talk about his relationships, but I remember him talking about the person he likes with Takao-kun, that's all."

-Midorima Shintarou-

Days have passed, you and Midorima just agreed to only meet during the weekends so it didn't really change anything—but both of you did remember that you'll meet up on the coming weekend.

When the weekend came, you asked Midorima to meet you at the museum instead of picking you up in the usual place.

"We could've come together." Midorima greeted when he saw you sitting in one of the bleachers.

"It's okay. I was in school to submit some papers."

"This early?" Midorima looked at his watch and its only 9:30 am in a Saturday.

"Yes. I have to be here after, so I had to be there early." You explained. "Shall we go inside, Shin?" you asked as you led Midorima to the entrance of the Museum.

"It's been a while since I last visited this place."

"Mine was when we went here together." Midorima said.

"That was our first time going out together!" you gasped excitedly, "Oh! I forgot that you went abroad to study..." you nodded to yourself, "my last time here was the day when you left."

Midorima held your hand tightly to himself as if assuring you that it will not happen again.

"I didn't tell anyone actually that we broke up—but my mom keep asking me why I haven't change yet when I told her that I'll be spending time with you...so I decided to just leave the house and go here and do some checking around like a normal day."

Midorima kisses the back of your hand as he held them closer to him.

"Do you want to try that new café around here? I heard they serve good meals!" you smiled and pulled Midorima's hand towards the direction if the café.

Midorima smiled quietly, just like how you used to be when you were in high school...

The whole day you didn't talk about whatever happened the previous week...you just spent time together, held hands and walked side by side.

It was around 5pm when Midorima's phone started ringing, it was someone from the hospital, but he disregarded it.

"You should answer." You said.

"It's the hospital." Midorima said, looking at the screen.

"It could be an emergency." You suggested.

"I'm off today." Midorima said "I don't plan on entertaining any calls when I'm not in duty."

"That's not nice, Midorima-sensei. Answer it." you told him. He looked into your eyes and sighed, he knew you want him to answer it.

"Hello," Midorima answered with a frown, and you smiled.

The call was about a patient of Midorima who was brought to the ER because of gastritis.

"Do you need to be there?" you asked when you noticed Midorima's frown deepened after dropping the call.

"I asked Ijuuin-sensei to assist since he's the one in duty in the ER."

"I don't mind--"

"Huh?"

"I don't mind if you need to be there. I'm okay here. I can take the bus."

"No—I'll drive you."

"The hospital is on the other direction. Don't worry about me. Save a life." You assured Midorima through a kiss. "Drive safe, goodbye."

Midorima arrived to the hospital and found the nurses looking at him, some whispering while the other immediately running away.

"He's probably in a bad mood!" he hears one say.

"Of course he will be, we interrupted him on his day off!"

"Not that reason! The one from last night! The leak--"

"SHH! We could be heard!"

Midorima went straight to his office and sat, his secretary is not saying anything but she was looking at him—is that pity?

"What's the diagnosis with the ER patient?" Midorima demanded, but before his secretary could reply, someone spoke from behind him.

"So are you really in a bad mood?" one of the doctors who are always bullying Midorima sat down across him in his office/clinic.

"Sensei." Midorima acknowledge him with a straight face.

"Yo." He greeted back with enthusiasm. "So it is true that you are in a bad mood."

"How is the emergency?" Midorima ignored him, "They called me."

"I fixed him— turn out one of the intern panicked and they misdiagnose so they called you to come."

Midorima sighed and truthfully, he was pissed.

"Anyways, I have something to ask you." Ijuuin-sensei said with a mischievous smile. "It's a question that bothered everyone in the hospital and couldn't tell you since last night when you go home after your duty."

"What is that?"

"Are you broken hearted?"

Midorima stared at the doctor—yes, he was—last week especially when he saw you and that brown haired guy together at the bus stop—but he knew he made you understand the misunderstanding when you spent time together...

"Why would you ask that?" Midorima almost growled...almost.

"I will take that as a yes, after all—that wouldn't be when you were announced to be engaged on the Saturday night and the next day you find your woman sleeping with someone else."

Midorima looked at the older doctor.

"Don't be mad at me." he said, "everyone in the hospital is talking about it—I'd rather hear it coming from you."

"Hear what from me?"

"What you are feeling. Are you hurt? Are you angry? Do you want us to gang up on that man?"

"I don't really know where this conversation is going, Ijuuin-sensei..."

"Paging Ijuuin-sensei...Ijuuin-sensei...patient in ER#7..."

"Tsk!" Upon hearing the intercom, the said doctor stood and looked at Midorima, "Listen! You have to tell me what happened when I'm done with this patient!"

-Midorima Shintarou-

It was late night when Midorima came home to his apartment; he placed a small paper bag on his table—he didn't expect that this week will go smoothly after what happened with the news flash, he was actually expecting paparazzi following him that is why he easily agreed with your condition not to pick you up at your house.

It was unexpectedly quiet—Emi was quiet too. But that doesn't matter, what matters the most is this...

Midorima took out a small box from the paper bag that he brought home.
He wasn't expecting that his mother will pass it to him this soon...he opened it and a white gold ring with diamonds and an emerald stone sparkled inside.

"Your father gave this to me. It may be old, but it holds a significant value to our family." he remembered her mother say.

Tomorrow is Sunday and Midorima decided to visit your house and meet your mother formally—after 10 years.

-Midorima Shintarou-

You lay back as you try to sit comfortably on the train.

"Isn't this too sudden?" Your mother placed the paper you have given her that afternoon when you got back from school.

"Did something happen?"

"Nothing happened." You answered, "I've been thinking about it for a long time now..."

"But it's the middle of the school year." Your sister was there too.

"It's a school program, so I think it'll be fine."

"When will it start?" your mother asked.

"Soon, I hope."

You turn off your phone placed it inside your bag before pulling out a new one from the box next to your luggage.

"How long do you know each other?"

"Do you have a date in mind for the wedding?"

"Well, not yet since we didn't plan for this to go public. But we will immediately make sure to announce it, when the time comes."

"So, can you describe him to us?"

"Oh," Emi acted embarrassed, "He's a doctor, he's tall, has a serious outlook in life and—"

"OH MY!!"

"OH! MY!! There's someone there!" the reporter blushed and covered her eyes in embarrassment.

"Hey, Babe! Do you mind passing me the bathrobe?" the whole crew and Emi herself turned to the door leading to the bathroom.

"Stop going live!!!" Emi shouted.

"Ehh?? Y-yes!" the cameraman immediately said.

"Oh! You're have a company?" the guy gasped as if he meant it—wearing nothing but a small towel around his waist and showing off his fair muscular, fresh out of the bath body to everyone.

"What the hell are you doing here!?" it was Emi's voice.

"What do you mean 'What'? I'm here to see you of course." The man announced confidently.

"What the hell! Ryoga!"

"Oh my! Are you filming this?" the reported whispered and her cameraman just nodded.
