MARLEY SAT IN the back of Kies car as the group of three pulled up to jjs house. marley felt the pit in her stomach grow as kie parked in front of the house.
"home sweet home," stated jj as marley heard his voice break a bit. she put her hand on the boys shoulder as he put his own hand on top of hers.
jj was sat in the passenger seat of kies car while marley was in the back, unable to fully comfort jj. "do you want us to come? cause we'll come." comforts kie as jj runs his hand through his hair, "no. this will only take a second."
he opens the car door and walks towards the front door before turning around to look at the girls. they both give him a comforting smile as jj walks into the house.
marley looks at kie worried, "what if his dad hits him again?" kie sighed, knowing she couldn't say anything to make her best friend feel better, "i honestly don't know, mar. but the good thing is this time if it happens, we will be here to help him."
marley nods, definitely not feeling better at all as she taps her foot against the floor of the car.
kie turns around to her friend, "mar?" marley looks up at kie before kie gives the girl a look. marley quickly stops the tapping before kie gives her another look.
marley looks down to see she was biting on her finger nail in stress. the girls hadn't done that in a few years so it surprised her before she pulled her hand away from her mouth.
"sorry." mumbled marley as kie sighed, "there's nothing to be sorry for. you just have to calm your nerves. he's gonna be okay, jj is really strong."
"i know that... but i also know that his dad has a special way of getting in jjs head without even trying, i mean he has come over to my moms house so many times when we were younger with cuts or bruises on his face. my mom would make him something to eat while i would clean up the cuts but it never really helped i don't think." mumbled marley as she began to fidget.
it make the girl very very stressed to know that jj could be getting hurt right at that moment and she was just sitting outside his house, doing nothing.
her worries only grew when jj walked back out looking like he had been crying. kie quickly turned the car back on as jj hopped in.
marley reached her hand out for the boy, who quickly took it in his own, before she questioned, "are you okay?"
jj nods his head as kie questions, "how'd it go?" jj holds up the keys in the hand that isn't holding marleys before kie pulls out of the driveway and towards the road.
marley continues to lean forward, even if it's very uncomfortable, and hold jjs hand as they drive. she sets her cheek against their intertwined hands as the boy lightly smiles at her.
he could tell the girl had been nervous for him and a bit of happiness was put into his heart knowing how much she cared. he'd never expected anyone to care for him the way the girl did.
the three continued to drive in silence towards where the phantom was. kie was in the front stressing out, jj was playing with the key, and marley sat in the back with her hands crossed over her chest as her foot lightly tapped the ground.
marley and jj has let their hands go after a bit and now where both sat trying to ease their stress. 
kie looked at jj worried, then looked away, and then looked back before jj stated, "it'll be fine. it'll be fine with the phantom. she'll get out quick."
sirens began getting closer as jj freaked, "woah, woah, woah." jj and marley quickly leaned down as kie continued to drive past the police cars, which where speeding the opposite way of the group.
"that means they haven't found him yet, right?" asks marley as jj looks at her, "i hope so." "they're still looking. it's a good sign." states kie, trying to help everyone's stress.

AUTHORS NOTE!
oh gosh i feel like this is super short. it's so hard not to write 4000  word chapters but i really want to draw this last episode out into as many chapters as i can so that this is a longer book of the first season.
i wanted there to be 30 chapters for this season but i guess if i add flashbacks and the prologue i'm thinking about, that could add to the chapter count which is good.
so, anyways, how are you feeling today?
is quarantine life going good? bad? in the middle?
ooooh what's a funny joke that you've got? i'd love to read all the jokes and laugh while my family looks at me like i'm crazy.
