Archt. Julia Amanda Valdes
I stared to that sign first before sitting down on my swivel chair. It has been 7 damn years after I finally got that 'Architect' placed on my name. I opened my laptop then started browsing through my mails. 3 months ago, a prestigious company in Manila offered me to work with them as their official architect which I immediately accepted.
Manila.
Hindi naman na bago sa akin ang magpunta sa kung saan saan. I guess it's part of my work. I love my job. Hehe
I startled a bit when my phone rang. Kinuha ko ito only to see Yana's name. Iana is my sister based in Manila. Siya pala ang susundo sa akin bukas dahil flight ko na pabalik ng Pilipinas.
"Ate!" I smiled when she waved to the camera. Nagulat ako kasi bagong kulay na naman ang buhok niya. When I last talked to her, green ang hair niya. Ngayon, blue na.
"Uy, excited na siya. 'Wag masyado ha, wala kang mapapala sa akin." I joked. She laughed then suddenly frowns.
"As if. Itong archi na 'to! Apakayabang!"
"Mahal mo naman ako. By the way, what made you call? Is there any problem?" I asked. I took a sip of my coffee first before turning my full attention to her.
"I saw Kuya Al last night sa favorite coffee shop niyo dati." she said.
My mood quickly changed upon hearing his name. After how many years ngayon ko nalang ulit narinig ang pangalan niya and it feels like...feels like home.
"O tapos?"
"Ate hindi na niya ako kilala..."
That's it when I decided to drop the call. I heaved a deep sigh trying to absorb what my sister just told me. What do you mean hindi ka maalala, Yana? Or it's just a joke?
