"Are y'all ready for a water party today!" Deputy Shoupe spoke into the megaphone. Atlanta sat on his boat with the other cop. "Alright. All kidding aside, your job today is to help keep private's off the marsh so we can do our job and find this wreck."

Atlanta was annoyed at Barnaby, he said he was going to come but then bailed out at the last minute to meet a boy. She didn't say anything, she didn't want to be the one to stand in the way of true love.

"That's straight from Sheriff Peterkin." Her father continued to shout. "Do not forget your sunscreen ladies. Bring a lot of liquids." Shoupe informed everyone. He didn't want them to dehydrate or burn.

"Does that include Natty Light?" One woman shouted making Atlanta laugh.

She wished she had some Natty Light. Maybe then today would be bearable. It was rare, but on the off chance, her father did let her come along on a search party she took it.

"I don't care what swill you bring. That's on your own recognisance. Alright, what I don't I don't worry about? Let's go!" Shoupe said into the mega phone.

Atlanta wished that rule applied to her, but every time her dad found out about one small thing that she did 'wrong', he'd be arguing with her for weeks.

The brunette looked at her acrylics that were growing out, she needed to get them done again. But with only one nail bar on the whole island, it was kind of hard to book in. She shrugged it off, there was way more important things to be worrying about right now.

"Stay here, don't move." Her father instructed as he stepped off the boat to speak to the two men who had volunteered to help.

"Yes sir." Atlanta sarcastically saluted.

After a few hours of searching the marsh, Atlanta's father turned on the sirens as they saw the HMS Pogue on the water. That was JJ and is friends boat. Atlanta wondered what they were doing there, the Sheriff has made it very clear that the Marsh was closed today.

"Evening officers." Pope stayed as they pulled their boat up next to the HMS. "Attie."

"Evening." Shoupe smiled at Pope.

"Hey." Atlanta said with a small wave, she noticed that JJ was there too. She hadn't seen him since the incident at the beach.

JJ's eyes lingered on the girl for a moment, he wanted a chance to explain everything, but he daren't talk to her so soon after the incident.

"JJ, tie this off." Pope instructed as Officer Plumb handed him the rope. The blonde boy snapped out of his daze as Pope handed him the rope.

"How you kids doing? You know this marsh is closed?" Shoupe questioned curiously. He sent a small glare to JJ who's eyes scanned his daughter up and down.

"No. I didn't know that." JJ shrugged, he glanced over to Atlanta, she looked beautiful.

"No. Wow. Why-why is it closed?" Pope shook his head.

Atlanta knew that something was off, she just couldn't tell what. She knew that both JJ and Pope were lying, it was obvious. They were awful liars.

"Well, we're conducting a search out here. Boat went down." Shoupe summed up quickly.

"Oh."

"Seen anything?" Atlanta glanced at Kie who looked around anxiously. She went to school with Kie, so she saw her more often than not, but this was the first time she had seen her act this strange.
