Chapter 7

"That button is used for the attacks—no, not to me! Shoot the zombie wearing the red shirt—yes, good." It was Haejin who decided to play video games with him. And of all video games they have, Haejin had to pick The Walking Dead.

"Jaemin-ah, Jaemin-ah! Behind you!!!" Haejin quickly pressed the buttons Jaemin told him to click when she seez a zombie.

Jaemin smiled when Haejin killed three zombies at once, "Impressive, love!" They high-fived and continued playing. "Go upstairs and look for the batteries, I'll go to the basement." Jaemin said and turned his character around.

"Okay—love!" The moment Haejin's character stepped on the stairs, one of the steps broke and she almost fell. "Yah, forget the batteries! Help me!"

"Use the rope we found earlier, it's with you." Jaemin said calmly while going to Haejin's direction. "And calm down, there aren't any zombies here—shit!"

Jaemin immediately jumped around and fired some bullets at the zombies who entered the house. "Why did you leave the door open?!" He yelled while shooting the zombies that were coming their way.

"I did not!" Haejin yelled back, still trying to get her character back on her feet. "Stay back for a bit, I'll use the grenade—"

"Haejin, no!" Before Jaemin could stop her, she already threw the grenade at the zombies. And the zombies weren't the only ones who died, their characters did, too.

He frowned at the girl, "I told you not to! We could have used that grenade for another time, and it's only the beginning of the game!" He sighed and massaged his temples while waiting for their game to reload.

"Yah, why are you yelling at me?!" She squinted her eyes and placed the controller on the table. "I don't wanna play anymore." She crossed her arms.

"Are you two... fighting?" The two looked at the door and saw Mark standing at the door. "Why do you look surprised? It's my sister's birthday, of course I'll go here!" He said and entered the apartment, even without the two's consent. (Not that he actually needs their consent, though.)

"Haejin-ah!" Someone else yelled, causing Haejin to look at the door's direction one more time.

"Daehwi!" She smiled and gave the other a hug. "Glad you're actually here."

"I actually came by just to give your gift and to greet you, of course." Daehwi smiled. "I couldn't miss my favorite cousin's birthday."

"Yah, what does that make me?!" Mark yelled from the kitchen.

Haejin and Daehwi could only roll their eyes. "Anyways, here..." He handed Haejin a neatly-wrapped box and a paper bag. "I also bought treats for Nari." He smiled. "Where is Nari, anyways?"

"In my room, sleeping." Haejin answered. "Thank you, Hwi." She smiled.

"I wanna stay long, but I still have to finish Jaehwan-hyung's album." He sighed and hugged the girl once again. "I'll also revise the theme track for Jaemin-hyung's game." He said, eyeing the boy who was still waiting for the game to reload.

"I'll get going now, Haejin-ah!" He smiled. "Happy birthday, again!"

"Thank you, Daehwi!" She smiled.
