The morning of the wedding dawned, bright and early. Tauriel woke up with a start, and it took her a minute to remember why she felt so painfully excited. Then she remembered: the wedding!

She shook Legolas, bouncing up and down on the bed next to him.
"Get up, get up, get up! GET UUUUPPPP!!!" She cried. Legolas's eyes snapped open.
"Wha... Tauriel! What on earth is going on?"
"The wedding! we are getting married TODAY!"

They got up and went down the stairs to the dining hall for some breakfast. Filauria was already sitting there, waiting for them. She was very excited too, as she was going to be one of Tauriel's bridesmaids.

After breakfast, Legolas was hailed by elves who were setting up the venue in the garden. He kissed Tauriel on the cheek and followed the elf out of the hall. Filauria giggled.
"You two are the cutest couple I've ever seen" she said.

Soon, Tauriel and Filauria left and went to check out the garden for themselves. It looked magnificent! The aisle had been marked out with slender wooden poles, with long pieces of white silk linking them together. They were widely spaced, so that the guests could see between them perfectly. Clusters of ivy and large white flowers had been beautifully woven around the poles, and hung among the folds of the white silk.

Hundreds of delicate wooden chairs sat on either side of the aisle, rising up like seats of an amphitheatre. And the end of the aisle, a raised platform had been erected, with a small flight of steps leading up to it. A large, white arch stood on the platform, with flowers twined elegantly over the frame. This was exactly where Tauriel and Legolas would shortly be married.

"Tauriel?"
She turned around. Legolas was standing there, with two elves she had never seen before. Both were dark haired. They lady wore a long, green and white dress, and had a silver tiara on her head. The lord had a sweeping robe of deep red, and he looked strong and proud.

"Tauriel, this is Lord Elrond, of Rivendell, and this is his daughter, Arwin." Said Legolas.
"Congratulations!, We have been waiting for prince Legolas to find the perfect bride for many years!"said Arwin, smiling at Tauriel. Tauriel bowed her head respectfully, and smiled back.

As Elrond and Arwin walked off to find Thranduil, Filauria spoke.
"We should probably go and get ready now, don't you think? The wedding will be starting in a few hours."
Tauriel nodded.

Legolas stared at them incredulously.
"You need hours to get ready?"
Tauriel and Filauria laughed.
"Yes, of course we do!" Said Tauriel
"This is a wedding, remember?"

"Oh, yes" Legolas rolled his eyes. "So you two are going to need even longer to get ready than usual. And that's saying something!"
Tauriel pretended to look affronted. She turned around and started to walk back towards the palace, stamping her feet. Then she turned and ran back to Legolas and kissed him hard on the lips.

A few minutes later, Tauriel and Filauria were just entering the dressing room. The other two bridesmaids were already there. Their names were Tsarra and Keya. They both smiled and waved to Tauriel and Filauria, then went to find their dresses.

Tauriel's dress was hanging on a hook beside the largest and most ornate mirror. The dress was the most beautiful one that Tauriel had ever seen. It was long, and made of fine white silk. It was trimmed with delicate white lace, and long, see-through lace sleeves. It also had a long, long train, which was also of white lace.

Tauriel put on her dress, and it felt wonderful. She felt so different! On the dressing table beside the mirror, a beautiful silver tiara lay. It was set with pure white diamonds, and it fitted perfectly. When she had brushed her hair, she put it on, and secured her fine white lace veil.

When she had finished, she turned to her bridesmaids. They beamed at her.
"Wow! Tauriel, you look beautiful!" Breathed Keya.
"You all look great too!" Replied Tauriel. They really did!
Filauria, Keya and Tsarra all had matching white dresses. They were shorter that Tauriel's and had fuller skirts. Slim belts of ivy encircled their waists, and wreaths of white flowers were set on their heads.

"Come on, it's time to go!" Said Filauria, and they left the dressing room. Soon they had arrived in the garden.

Legolas was standing on the raised platform beneath the arch. Thranduil was standing beside him. Then the music began to play.

Tauriel walked slowly up the aisle, followed by Filauria, Keya and Tsarra.
When they reached the platform, Tauriel walked up the steps to stand beside Legolas. Then they turned so that Legolas was on Thranduil's left side and Tauriel on his right. They faced each other and waited.

"We are gathered today to celebrate the union of these two beautiful elves" said Thranduil "Do you, prince Legolas of Mirkwood, take Tauriel to be your companion for life? Will you love her and look out for her as long as you live?

Legolas gazed into Tauriel's bright green eyes.
"I do" he said.
"And will you, Tauriel, captain of the Mirkwood Guard, take prince Legolas to be your companion for life?
"I do" she replied.
"Then" said Thranduil "I declare you bonded for life!"

He took both their hands, and linked them together. Thranduil raised his eyebrows at Legolas.
"You may now kiss your bride"
Legolas seized Tauriel around the waist and kissed her. She kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck. This was the kiss that would bind them together forever. After about five minutes, they broke apart. Somewhere in the crowd, someone wolf whistled. Everyone laughed.

As they walked down the aisle, arm in arm, the guests stood up, cheering and clapping. They got to the end, and found a group of people waiting for them. A tall man, with long graying hair and a short beard, a much younger man who looked alot like him, a young woman, holding a tiny baby, a young man with short, blond hair, and a girl who looked around fourteen years old.

"Bard? Sigrid? Bain? Tilda?" Said Tauriel. They nodded. Tilda ran forward and hugged Tauriel.
"Congratulations!" Said Bard.
Singrid smiled at Tauriel and Legolas.
"It's sort of strange, you haven't changed at all, yet we have changed so much!" She said.
"Is this your baby?" Asked Tauriel "she's so cute!"
Singrid smiled.
"Isn't she? She's great when she's asleep, but when she wakes up, I expect she'll cause an avalanche!"
Tauriel and Legolas both laughed.

Tauriel would never forget her wedding night. They danced, talked and laughed all night long. It was so nice to see all their friends again, especially Bard and his children, and all the dwarves. But she would have given alot to have seen Kili one last time that night. There was a place in her heart, were Kili had been, that no-one would ever fill.

Legolas came over to were Tauriel was sitting, talking to Singrid. He sat beside her and took her hand.
"This is the best day I've ever had!" He said. She smiled, and started to kiss him again.

And that's were we will leave them for now, until the next chapter.
