Magnus's POV

"Is that who I look like to you?" Alec said.

Magnus's heart sank. He closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, the guy on the bed now had straight brown hair, and pale blue eyes.

It wasn't Alec.

"Who are you?" Magnus asked.

"I was glamored to look like the one you love the most," The boy continued. Magnus couldn't tell how old he was. His face seemed timeless.

"Who are you?" He asked again.

"A servant of the Angels," He said, his expression one of amusement. "The Shadowhunters don't know we exist. It's an organization called the Fýlakas ángelos."

"Greek for guardian angels," Magnus said.

"Yes. You're a smart one, aren't you?"

"What do you want?"

"I bring a message from Raziel."

"Raziel? As in, the Angel Raziel?"

"Yes," The boy stood up, walking over to him. "What happened last night, it was not the Angel's wish. Alexander Lightwood was not supposed to die. He has not yet fulfilled his destiny."

"So what are you saying?" Magnus asked.

"I'm saying there's a way to get him back."

"What?" Magnus's heart skipped a beat. He could get his Alexander back.

"If you tell anyone, the deal's off."

"What do I have to do?"

Isabelle's POV

The funeral was in two hours. She's been to enough of them to know that she would have to lead the whole thing, as Head of the Institute.

But Isabelle didn't know if she could do it.

She pulled a white knee-length, long-sleeved dress from the closet. She slipped into it, along with a pair of high heels. She pulled her hair into a tight bun, leaving two small pieces of hair hanging out in the front. Then she sat in front of the mirror. She stared at the platinum wig hanging on a hook on the wall.

"Really, Izzy?"

"What? Demons dig blondes."

"It's not blonde, it's white."

Isabelle smiled at the memory. That had been so long ago. Before they had even met Clary. A tear slipped from her eye.

She still couldn't believe it was real. But she knew it was.

Magnus's POV

"Tonight at midnight. I'll be here waiting." He said. "But we're going to need his body."

"His body?"

"And you can't let the funeral happen. Once they send his soul up into the heavens, even the Angel won't be able to retrieve it."

"You want me to steal his body?"

"No, of course not". He snapped his fingers. "I just did it for you."

Magnus couldn't believe what was happening.

"So, what do we do to bring him back?"

"I will explain tonight. Alexander is in the guest room." And with that, he turned into a feather and shot out the window.

The second he was gone, Magnus made sure his wards were raised, and all of the doors and windows closed and locked. He ran into the guest room. Alec's body lay on the bed. He looked almost peaceful. But his chest wasn't moving. His skin was extremely pale, and his lips were blue.

Seeing that made Magnus's heart stop for a second.

"Alexander." He said, sitting next to him on the bed. He rested his hand on top of Alec's. It was cold as ice. Magnus turned away from him, tears streaming down his face.

He could almost hear Alec in his mind.

"Magnus, I love you. And I know when something's wrong. Whatever it is, I'm here for you."

"I'll have you back soon." He whispered. "Hopefully."

Jace's POV

Jace was not ready for this. It was almost time for the funeral. He was wearing a white suit. His hair was combed back. His eyes were red from all of the crying he had been doing lately. But he couldn't cry in front of anyone. They would think he was weak.

He and Max would have to stand in front of everyone, and say his name. Jace already knew he would be the one saying it. Isabelle was Head of the Institute. She and two silent brothers would lead the ceremony.

He didn't think it was fair that Max had to stand with him, but that was the rule. If the deceased didn't have children, then their siblings would do it. If they had no siblings, the Head of the Institute would do it. For some reason, parents weren't allowed.

Jace pulled his tie tighter around his neck. He took a deep breath and walked into the hallway.

Simon's POV

"Listen, I don't want any trouble. I'm just trying to get to the New York Institute." Simon said, throwing his hands up. His back was against the wall, and the other vampires surrounded him on all other sides.

Shouldn't have taken the subway, He thought.

"We heard you can walk in the sunlight,"

"Wait, that's what you're talking about? Buddy, that's old news. You should..."

"Shutup, daylighter."

"Guys, I don't have time for this. We can talk later, okay? I have a funeral to go to." He jumped over the line of vampires, landing on top of a subway train. He lay down to avoid getting killed. Again. When it stopped at the next station, he slid off of the roof, almost squishing a mundane, who jumped and shouted in surprise.

"Sorry!" He yelled before running up the stairs and onto the busy New York streets. Izzy would kill him if he was late to her brother's funeral. The Institute wasn't far from here. He used his vamp speed and arrived in less than a minute. Izzy was waiting on the steps.

"Took you long enough," She grumbled. "It starts in 30 minutes. A lot of people are already in there."

"Where's Magnus?"

"I don't know." She frowned. "I haven't heard from him since last night. But he'll be here."

"Yeah," Simon said. "I'm sure he will."

Magnus's POV

It would be suspicious if Magnus didn't go to the funeral. So he snapped himself into a white suit. He walked out of the guest room, locking the door behind him. What would happen when they realized Alec's body was missing?

I can't tell anyone. Magnus thought. If I do, I'll never get him back.

He took a deep breath before forming a portal and stepping through it.

Hey y'all. Sorry about the rather short chapter. But do you think Magnus is going to get his Alexander back? Or do you think I'm going to be evil and make another horrible event happen? *Smirk* Okay, thanks for reading. Bye.
